I have no clue, but you can try using the ModPack Installer without HeroMod, if that runs fine then I know why it's somewhat breakingAt the "Mojang" logo.

I mean using the 2nd method (manual installation) with a clean minecraft 1.4.7 installation. The installer can install everything that you choose it to install.What do you mean with Unchecking? Do you mean launching another mod-pack or what do you mean?
