Robben performs another amazing match, being critically involved in two of the goals. Hopefully he will win the golden ball reward as the best player of this world cup. Congratulations to Nederland with a deserved bronze medal, too bad they didn't reach the finals but still an incredible and surprising world cup for Nederland.

Nederland undefeated! (Literally)

Argentina performs dirty football while Germany plays on and scores. Well deserved lead for 'die Nationalmannschaft'

1 - 0 by Göetze!

And it's over! Deutschland, Deutschland über alles. Über alles in das welt!

Ridicolous! Messi got the Golden Ball as the best player in the world cup. A scandal! James Rodriguez and Arjen Robben had a far better world cup than Messi.

Thomas Müller got the silver ball and Robben got the bronze ball, how the hell did Messi top any of those two?? FIFA showing how corrupt they are once again.

Probably because Argentina/Messi made the final and the others didnt. That generally plays a very big part in the decision. I know its effectively irrelevant, but it is a big part in it.

Also, Messi may not have scored too often, but some of the skill he displayed was in a class of its own. It's hardly showing the corruption of FIFA, if anything it would have went to a Brazilian player if that were the case.

Messi is very skilled indeed and he did show it, however he didn't do anything of importance in the semifinal and final even if he showed off some nice technique.

Robben isn't as technically skilled as Messi, but he was the driving power behind Netherlans's success. That's the difference between an indvidualist and a team player, Robben made plays for his team while Messi played for himself. Argentina got carried by their strong defensive play, which gives players like Mascherano and Garay much more significance for Argentina over someone like Messi.
