Community ran PvP tourney?

I was thinking and since the admins are busy or cannot be sure they can make it to a event/tourny I thought it would be cool to do a community ran PvP tourny. I know it will it will need A LOT of planning and communication but it could work. We just need STRICT guide lines to follow and i'm sure it would work. Im not sure on the prizes yet but i will try and get something together. What do you guys think? Also im not sure where it will be hosted because of the chance of TC or another group to run in during a PvP round. I would have to set a rule about if you run in the fight for another group and finish people off then your town's team will be disqualified from the tourny.
So what did you guys think??

Where would we do it? Would you build your own arena? Would there be people guarding it or something so people cant run in during a round? What about people with AoEs?

Here is a way we could do it. We do it at a town or near a town. Groups that want to join pay an entrance fee. The entrance costs are added together for the prize money. The teams promise in trade chat not to interfere in the matches and to follow the rules. The area near/in a town is usually flat and a good place to fight.

I really like this idea and it would be fun

Some possible areas could be:
PvP pit under spawn
In a town? (And get gtp's into there)
Random areas of the world (Less chance of random attacks)

In a trustworthy town would be the most reliable. That way they can have people who are in the town access to regions to close gates and yeah

What if we had multiple towns for the fights, like the Umbra team is Visitor and the Jericho team is Home so it is held in Jericho.

what about titles, banners etc? Things only the winners and or participants can wear. For example a signature or emblem for in your signature with: champion of the third national HC PVP tournament or runner up of the third national HC PVP tournament... (just a random name for the tournament ofc)

Some sort of painting/icon as price to put on display in your town/hall/kingdom as proof you won.

Because these guys know that if I could guarantee that I would be there on the day I would host a tournament myself.

Well a lot of people want it so why not I better start planning

Things we will need:
- Another wizard to gtp the other group into the arena

- 1 or more towns to base the fights in
*Max one arena per town
*Arena gotta be able to kite in
*No huge obstacles that are bias
*No hidden passages
*Not escapable
*Area must be box shaped or round (No weird shaped arenas)
(If you want your town to host a fight in this tourny please make a arena (Have the size around 55x10x55 = 55 wide, 55 length, 15 hight)
- When an arena has been created please ask me to come make sure it qualifies.
- The arena doesn't have to look nice, just serve the purpose.
**If your town is planning on making a arena for this tourny please post below We should need around 2-3 arenas**

- Prizes (Need to get some prizes together soon)

- A date (Will think of at a later date)

- An official thread (Will be up in a few days)

- Teams (This is a 5v5 tourny. Please have a 5 man team as well as a reserve incase one member can't turn up.

- A community tourney channel (Will be using my donor channel - 'UltimateOptics')

- Maybe some guards to guard the arena from intruders?

If I may suggest, make this a large scale tournament taking up a number of weeks, in a number of arenas. Maybe best two out of three for every match. I have always disliked how short Herocraft PvP tournaments are. A leader board and rankings could be posted at the end of every week.

I am going to begin construction of it immediately with the help of the citizens. I cannot remember the dimensions of the area I am thinking of off hand, but it is a size able are. We should have a lot to work with.

Are we wanting a classic arena, a custom battleground, or something a little different? I potentially want to work some traps into it.

Nah no traps :3 Would be a bit unfair because the other arenas may not have traps. It can have things to stop kiting too much but don't make it too bias When your done with it invite me over and i will come take a look. Also look at the one below DHX (The PvP cage) and i want it something like that No corridors just one big room

Hello and welcome to the 1st community ran PvP tournament thread. This is where you can talk about it and also register your teams. This is a 5v5 PvP tournament that will be hosted over so many weeks (Depending on how many teams register and what time i can get online to host). I have never done this before so i am not sure how well this is going to go but I'm sure it will run smoothly.

Things i need:
- Some wizards that are active that could help gtp teams into the arena.
- Towns to host the PvP rounds in.

Rules of the tournament:
1) 5 people in a team. No more no less.
2) Potions are NOT allowed.
3) Golden apples are also NOT allowed.
4) One team per town.
5) All teams must have at least one reserve.
6) Bring your own stuff - We will not provide gear or reagents
7) Each fight will be best out of 3 so be ready to fight 3 times.
Disobeying the rules will lead to disqualification from the tournament so not able to win a prize.
