New Profession [Merchant]

So - first off, we can sort ChestShops by item permissions / etc.
Only Merchants will be able to place Shops

I was thinking of having a Merchant style profession - that had the abilities to sell all items at level 50. We could also have the merchant profession the ability to instantly transfer items to other players from their inventories.

How about investment which gives the player a % chance of multiplying the money invested by a fixed amount?
IE I invest 50c and have a 25% chance of getting 200c from it.

The cool down would be long (10 minutes?)and the money would be awarded or lost at the end of the cooldown.

I think you should sell items like leaves, cauldron items, and rare blocks at high levels. Basic items like stone/wood deviants at low levels. So only the big boss merchants will have the REAL goods, and not EVERYONE.


EDIT: This will also promote the old way of selling via meeting people in game due to lack of levels/merchant profession.

What if merchants were able to make shops...for other players? Like engineers kind of. They could make a shop for another player, but they get like a 10?% commission of everything sold. So this would make a very high demand for merchants, but make it still possible for people to have gold shops/tax boxes/alchemist/special goods shops/etc etc. Of course merchants should get other benefits, but this is just one idea.

I like it. May help solve all the whining about player shops. More player interaction = better.

Yeah we were talking about this stuff in IRC, some very good ideas coming our way, ones brought by 1.0 itself and ones brought up by Kainzo, who seems to be thinking outside the box while we are waiting for the update. Definitely like the idea of making chest shops limited to just merchants, shops will be less common, so those who decide to become a merchant will make some cash.

i think certain proffesion should only be able to sell there trade..... like alchemists sell chainmail.
