Why We Shouldnt Use "The Silent Community's Say"

Ok So in a (now locked) thread people said we cant due polls because of the Silent Community not voting or something like that due to not be verbal, I disagree with this because Poll's are anonymous, ALSO Its like saying we cant have elections because some people wont vote.....

Heh, this kinda reminds me of the statistic class I took my senior year of highschool.

In statistics there's a type of bias that is associated with having people voluntarily participate in a survey (or in this case poll). Basically the most vocal people, regardless of which extreme they're on, are more likely to "vote" than those who are able to but aren't as vocal/able.

Most obvious example is politics. If you were to say ask on TV for people to dial a certain number and tell the station which politician they want to win the people who are the most involved will be the ones likely to phone-in. Rather than those in the population who don't care either way.

What does this mean?
Well basically you can have polls here on forums, but because there are those who choose not to reply the results will have bias. AKA they wont represent the entire population (sever).

...if only I had as many friends as I did math textbooks in highschool. QQ

The difference is that If they dont care either way about the results of the poll, knowing that the poll decided the direction of the server, then they dont care about the direction of the server. That said let the people who do care have a say, and take part in making the decision as to what comes and goes.

Right, just one thing.
You will never get back those players who quit, they are long gone, so how does your 'regime' that you and your 'crew' have posted on previous threads attract new players, eh?

Just plain stupid, maybe the oldies may like it, but Jesus lost souls do not like getting killed while they are still learning the ropes.

In my opinion 3.0 is prefect balance, give or take a bit. And, the new players I have in my town love it, it excites them, but getting camped by max levels just annoys them, pushes them away from the server.

You people need to adapt/get over it.
The server is not going back to how it used to, that is just not happening.

Another thing,
Why do you play on the server?
There are people trying to help, like multi who are trying to make this server more active, and belive it or not, it is working. You can see by the average population of pvp, which has at least trippled after 3.0

All you guys are just pushing new players away.

No, I'm tactful and know how to see both sides of an argument. You refuse to compromise and even when I agree with you on something, you continue to complain about it.

When you triple a small number it is still pretty small. 3 * 3 is 9. Congrats, townships 3.0 has brought 6 more people onto PvP.

If those people don't vote, then they have no right to be mad about changes. So basically what we are saying is us, as a community, really never got a say in these huge updates that DID make HC go downhill. We have put so much time in this server. We should of had a say in the updates. It really is nothing like politics. We aren't voting for a new dictator (since that is obvious what we have at the moment).

I agree with @JupiterRome 100%. Honestly, people like you and @devotedworker have NO logical arguement about anything we say. You can keep trying to say we are wrong about the changes, but the server's player base says otherwise.

I give my argument and provide evidence to why I have said stance. If you disagree with me thats fine, but at least explain why...

I don't know why people are attacking me of all people. I'm very moderate about the situation. While I do like somethings of Township 3.0 I also have plenty of problems with it and yet people think I'm multi's fanboy.
