What he said. Nidalee is best played in normal matches as a support who also has high burst/poke/mobility potential. Expecting Nidalee to have high presence (in a damage/crowd control sense) is like expecting Soraka to be an ADC.

AP nidalee still my favorite champion. Got a lot of great games with her lately (15+ kills). She is really good in the laning phase especially at poking and taking down enemies (Cougar form combined with the Q spear is great for cleaning up). In mid-late game fights stay behind your team, heal ADC or other damage dealers and poke with spear. When the enemy runs, clean up! If your team runs, kite while poking with Q. If they get to close use Cougar Form W. (Goes trough thin walls and has a 3 sec CD, no-cost)
