What sports to people play?

I've been looking to take up a sport to become more active, and it would look nice on my resume. What sports do you play, and what would you recommend? I've been trying to find a sport thats fun and wouldn't get laughed at because a 12 year old has been doing it since he was 5.

Any recommendations would be great.

I used to be a goal-keeper before on the local football team, although I lost my interest in football as the people I played with were dicks.

Other that that, some small stuff once in a while with friends, like Ping Pong and Pool(not even sure these are sports).

Other than that, e-sports?
