Just a note - is there a reason people can buy so many shops? Not pointing any fingers (yavool =P), but it seems a bit unfair that people are allowed to take up multiple shops that they don't even use/have way more extra space.
Even if shops like yavool's 'stalls' are small - it's the location that matters. Those stalls are next to the exchange and gain the most traffic, hence why they should only have one. Whereas a shop in the middle of the district is larger however has much more room for chests.
Essentially what I'm saying is that in my humble opinion, people should not be able to buy multiple shops - one and done. Especially when the sole purpose of buying them is to rent them out to other people. I don't intend to dabble in the economy/stores, it just seems unfair to others, even with the amount of shops being bought.
EG. Have you ever known a blacksmith in RPG's to own multiple shops in the same area?
to the best of my understanding, a player is allowed 5 shops. i currently have 4. i am aware of other players who have 3-5...and am still looking for a larger "building" shop to be in. the overall shortage of shops in Haven has been the reason for why i have consistently requested that the trade district get fully regioned - so that everyone has a chance to have as many shops as they can utilize. it was nice to see that more shops were opened up yesterday; i hope that *all* of the shops are opened up as soon as feasible.
not to hijack your post, but my personal beef is when people buy shops and they lay dormant for 2, 3 or 4+ weeks. the way i see it, we should have to "use it or lose it," and have members of the HC community be able to /pe to file a complaint when they witness a shop that isn't being utilized in some productive manner consistent with the spirit of the Trade District and instead all the shop owner is doing is effectively barring others who wish to be active in the market from doing so.
i agree with you, @
SwannkyTaco that location is important, but there are others in the TD that are doing just fine with their locations as well. from a marketing perspective, it is also about what you sell, who you target, and how you target your audience that will make or break your success. i look forward to seeing you in the TD as a fellow merchant of the wares you wish to sell. ^.^
