Staff has become too lenient on Griefing Rules.

The thread sort of side tracked and I don't want to be the one whiner but I almost feel like pressured into not pe'ing things that could ultimately have been/should have been. Personally I'm lucky in that Punisher is a cool guy and is willing to check stuff out if I tell him and pe it he will usually service it, but under normal circumstances I almost feel intimidated by the staff and windup not bothering with the petititon. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way but thats how it appears to me.

I some times feel this way to.

Unless you're doing something wrong, there's no need to feel intimidated.

I understand this but it does not always come across this way.

This post and your situation, I assume.

I don't answer petitions unless I feel like it, so don't listen to me xD

This post is about griefing. My ban is about an exploit, which was my bad, but so many have done it with blink and charge that I will not let people hold it against me. I will be back on Wednesday people =)

I just feel like leniency on x-rayers is worse than on griefers. You asked for less leniency in the post I quoted. Hence the ironic situation you see regarding your appeal that I had recently noticed at the time.

Idk, I went through most pages of the ban's and I saw pretty much 0 leniency on xrayers or speedhackers, etc. Most received perm bans, and Amgroma was one of them. Illegal mods are not taken lightly on this server from what I have seen. Sure, it is sometimes hard to catch x-rayers, unlike speedhackers or fly mods, something triggers in the logs i think, so you dont see as many people banned for x-ray. But we have the anti xray to prevent them from screwing up our economy.

I see it the other way. Griefing is a daily occurrence, and not a lot comes out of a PE besides them cleaning it up, maybe. I just feel like decent amounts, like a pillar, not taken down after 24 hours, should be illegal and give a warning. I think 1 block is alright, could be on accident, etc and not hard to just break it. But within reason, I think people should get either a warning or some sort of punishment. I like coin loss, maybe a little exp loss, or something like that would be good. So it doesnt necessarily get them closer to a ban like a warning would, unless it happens a few times, but something to affect them InGame would be nice. Like you took this person's time to destroy all your stuff, now you have to take the time to get more coins, or exp.

people use auto attack mods every day and nothing is done about it. I would honestly care more if methods of detecting kids using illegal mods were used more often rather than endless griefing petitions handled.

^That I saw a MASSIVE increase in pvp hacks going on since I came back from my break of HC I looked it up and a discontinued pvp hack has been recontinued and that is probably why the massive increase has occured.

I heard that people used them, and reach hax and shit. I never really knew they existed until i saw bans for them. So weird. But I bet it is hard to detect. Griefing is pretty easy

We are actively policing PvP hacks. We watch a ton of suspected hackers, but need your help in identifying them. If you suspect someone is using hacks, let Staff know ASAP. I personally despise hackers.

It's particularly difficult to tell with PVP hacking... my connection isn't known to be top of the line, so usually when they continue striking me even as I'm getting knocked further and further away from them while running, I don't know whether to attribute it to my own lag or hacking.

:( though some people are just jerks about pvp anyway.

I agree completely, I only play on my laptop, and the eternal cry of some pvpers seem to be "It's the lag", and I can't just say, "No it isn't!" because, again I'm on a laptop, so not the highest quality machine out there.

I know right? I have an underground complex system thingy and it keeps getting griefed! People have been placing blocks randomly everywhere, removing blocks everywhere and all sorts! Why is this needed? I mean I have seen people just make 1 block holes in walls. Why. Why the hell would someone do that...

I have petitioned griefing serveral times and none of the times they got reverted.. :( Only warnings.

I had to clear up the mess by myself too.. :(

Whenever I hear about griefing I always hear Admins/Mods say something like ''we will talk to the griefer'' or ''we will give them a warning''. I remember in the past players used to get banned for just griefing like one or two blocks! Some of my friends got temp bans for doing just that, even though they were on their way to go fix it when they got the ban. Now I see players that go and grief a huge chunk of blocks and just get a warning.. :(

I think there should be more strict rules on griefing. Well, I mean more strict PUNISHMENTS on griefing. The current rules about it are fine I suppose (appart from the fact players have the right to go chop down a huge decorative forest outside someones house).

I need to go through the rules again, I realize some things are missing. I have to agree the destruction of a forest, etc outside of someone's house is a shady thing to do. The rules do say, mindlessy griefing in the wilderness is punishable. I'll clarify that a bit more.

Many times a 1x1 block is just simply a verbal "don't to that again". We track everything however. If I see someone laying 1x1 blocks frequently, it will be escalated to a warning of some form.

If griefing isn't getting reverted, get with me. If I'm not online, gab, gin, and punisher are all very good and more then happy to jump on issues like that.
