What about pillaring outside of towns? I know mine couldnt be figured out because apparently they did it when there was an update or something up with the logs, and it didnt record it. But mine was a 4x4 cobblestone pillar up to the sky from a structure below. So I had to get a pick (not some easy dirt which takes a second or two), pillar up to the top, and destroy my pillar, and his/their pillars as well. I think pillaring, even one, if not destroyed in 24 hours, is a decent enough grief to get some sort of punishment

Myself, or any other Admin, or MOD for that matter with Superpick could have taken this down relatively easily. Next time, please ask for help. We are here to serve you.
Please also be aware that sometimes our ability to help real players with real problems is completely hindered by players whining about a 1x1 block someone left for them.

Please use your own judgement when creating PE's regarding severity. Sometime we get to a PE and look at each other and say..... seriously? And it only makes the player looks stupid.... But we do it anyways, dont we? :) Its cause we love you! lol

This is what I meant. 1x1 pillaring IS against the rules, so why shouldn't we petition it?
If you aren't going to enforce the rule, then why is it even a rule?

greek he was referring to one single block, not 1x1 pillars, he is saying he will gladly destroy the pillars, but gets annoyed when someone pe's 1 dirt block that someone left on a wall or something.

If I am misunderstanding you I apologize.

Yes, we should be reasonable. I can see if it is a few blocks, but we shouldnt have to put a lot of work into fixing someone else's mistakes or lazyness. Sure if you break a glass block, and wanna pay me 1c or give me a new one, then fine.

I answer any and all petitions. Its up to YOU, the player, to determine whether or not to petition something for me.
And @Farroes had it dead on.

Also, I would like to add one thing:

Just because the average player doesnt see us actively punishing naughty children, does NOT, REPEAT NOT , mean that it doesnt go unpunished. We keep records and logs of everything. Everything is meticulously documented. Everything.

Ehh, i gave up on trying to build, since the only thing i like to build are farms (due to me having no creativity), and people like to destroy farms. My reed farm supplied a full inventory of reeds, without breaking the bottom block, and some dick decided to destroy the bottom block, and empty the hidden chest completly (which was 3 full double chest of reeds for emergency's)

Since none of that is even tech. pe-able. I just dont build anymore.

I think the main reason why farms suck, is because monsters/animals both can destroy them by walking on them as well as players. We can toggle this destruction so you can walk on farms without destroying them, I am unsure if people want this though.

I don't think anyone would complain that their crops couldn't be trampled by NPC's or clumsy players, some might say it wasn't "hardcore" though (Not me btw).

I would like it if farm land could not be destroyed my players or mobs. but if you placed a block on the farm block would it make the farm block back in to a dirt block?

That's what happens when melons take the space, so I guess so. Alternatively you could just mine then replace the dirt. I like the idea that you could make massive above land farms this way (Like in rl).

The thread sort of side tracked and I don't want to be the one whiner but I almost feel like pressured into not pe'ing things that could ultimately have been/should have been. Personally I'm lucky in that Punisher is a cool guy and is willing to check stuff out if I tell him and pe it he will usually service it, but under normal circumstances I almost feel intimidated by the staff and windup not bothering with the petititon. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way but thats how it appears to me.

I'll continue to PE minor griefs, I want whoever is griefing maliciously to be punished no matter the scale.
And if somebody is doing it out of ignorance, they should be told the rules.

And if the feedback from Admins is "Don't waste my time with this minor grief" then the message is pretty clear.

Its not really this since my farms are underground and theirs no grass for friendly mobs to spawn, and no darkness for enemy mobs to farm. Players just like to be douche bags whenever they have the legal chance to do it(So they take what they can carry and destroy the rest for no reason). Plus, reeds cant be destroyed by getting stepped on anyways. They have to be punched.

I 2nd this, in running a town, i had so many 1x1 towers, and holes, glitching, and other rule beakers coming in to and messing up the town it self and out side the town with in the 100 blocks, and me and my town mates PEd every last one, and only 2 where ever even looked at, and those where about gitching not every the 100 griefs all over the place. if the other where looked into then the admin/mod did not reply to the pe, and if there is no repliy how to we know it was looked at?

i am not trying to rant/rage here, and i have very much respect for the staff, but some times there are things that happen that ........

A lot of the staff prefer to do things behind the scene. I dont think theirs any particular reason as to why (their may be) but they do. I think if staff replied to the pe's with user has been warned or user has been punished, people would feel as though staff are doing their job (which we know they are, but people like reassurance)

We keep track of most everything anyone does, even 1x1x1 pillars. If a staff member tells you "Why bother?", let me know.

I have no fear in banning anyone for anything, but I do believe in fairness. This is where the rules come in. They keep us in line, players and staff both included. If I'm in a bad mood one day, the rules will make sure I don't go on a banning spree. If I'm in a good mood, the rules will make sure I'm not too lenient on people.

And to an earlier post, we were much less lenient whenever the server first started. Our community was smaller, and the game wasn't near as detailed. As much as I'd love to go back to this, it's not possible.

Most petitions are recorded, even if a warning is not issued. It is up to the staff member as to whether or not to record the instance, however most of our staff is pretty good about reporting even minor things.

Unless you're doing something wrong, there's no need to feel intimidated.
