Deep within the vast, barbaric deserts of the south lies Pemben, the city of knowledge.
Hello! As you can see above, Pemben is indeed the city of knowledge. The town is expected to have decent role players, and it is not ideal for non-role players, as well as 'toxic' players. If you find yourself intrigued by this, please read through the official town thread thoroughly, and possibly apply. All matters are subject to change, for as the town grows, things may change.
It is important you know the city follows not the official server lore. It follows the 'Lotharian Patheon' in which the gods are recorded through I, Hyperion.

The holy land of the Pemben, God of knowledge, lies on grounds in the western deserts of the south. An unlikely place for knowledge to flourish, it's beginning days certainly proved one must truly be faithful to prevail using knowledge as power. The history of the land is separated into the '10 Conflicts.' Most conflicts occur during the First Foundation, a time period in the land that occurred many years before the city itself was established. Please, take the time to read over the history of Pemben's holy land.
The First Conflict: Vast was Valorium in its early days. The lands unclaimed, nature prevailing over man. It was at this time, however, the first conflict occurs. The western desert of the south was claimed by Pemben as his holy land at the founding of Heroes Landing. At this time Endermen were the dominant species throughout the land. Pemben, however, was partial to the Human race. It was the battle of Knowledge Lake that sparked the Endergonian war. This battle took place directly atop Pemben's domain. Interfering with knowledge, Pemben struck at the Endermen, aiding the humans in the battle. The gods partial to the Endermen could not defeat Pemben and his allies, for a god is at absolute power within his domain. At the end of the battle, the humans cheered in triumph. The First Foundation was established, the first human civilization on Valorium.
The Second Conflict: 50 years after the start of the Endergonian war, the Endermen forces had weakened greatly, and the remaining gods on the side of the Endermen worried defeat. In order to strike back, Manata, goddess of evil, and Huji, God of injustice, bonded together in the creation of Sylivoa. Sylivoa, being immortal, grew quickly. Once she became of age the Council of the Cloak (the council of the gods partial to the Endermen) named her Goddess of Toxin. She was then given range to choose her holy land. To the will of her parents, she chose the western deserts of the south, same as Pemben. It was then the second conflict occurred. Looking to strike vengeance on the First Foundation, Sylivoa led an army of Endermen forces into the land, herself having power equal to Pemben. The human forces defended strongly against the Endermen forces at the start of the battle. However, it was when Sylivoa went into battle the tables turned. She possessed the power to turn humans into slaves of her will, and forced the humans, locked in trance, to turn on Pemben. Few Pembenites fought against Sylivoa's will, and the First Foundation was nearly obliterated. However, Pemben entered the battle field, with his Rod of Discipline in one hand, and the book of Eternal Knowledge in the other, he cast the spell upon the humans to once again fight in his name. At this time Sylivoa was drawn out of the First Foundation, and the humans again emerged victorious.
The Third Conflict: After the end of the Endergonian war, the gods had to establish the holy land of the entire Patheon, in order to construct the Celestial Cathedral. This cathedral could not be in any land claimed by a god or goddess, it much be a place where the deities were of equal power. After many years of argument within the Council of the Cloak and the Council of the Cloud, they came to the agreement that an area between the mesas and swamplands of the north would be the place to establish the holy cathedral, along with its holy city. They named it Lothair. It was then the essence of Pangea could be felt. The essence was the last of the goddess, who had been sacrificed for life to be formed on the planet, at the time solid clay. It brought Pangeas last will, that each God and goddess have a servant on the planet, and that the gods themselves dwell in the domain above the planet, or in the domain below. Pemben had always been the god to rule is people himself, and staying within his own holy land. He knew, however, not to disrespect Pangeas will. He anointed his servants as 'Grand Masters' of his land. He first Grand Master had the task of designing the government of the First Foundation. He anointed Samulus Palis, a hero of the Endergonian war. Samulus was talented in governmental affairs, and created a well structured government for the First Foundation, and he did his job as Pemben's servant greatly. He ruled firmly and kindly, but he had made a flaw that would affect the First Foundation many years after his death.
The Fourth Conflict: The Fourth Conflict differs from the rest. It did not include Pemben, nor did it occur within the First Foundation. It occurred to Sylivoa, at this time she had taken the title as the Pemben's arch enemy goddess. If you remember, she had chosen the same land as her holy land as Pemben had. Having little influence within her own holy land, she was losing grasp on her immortality. She informed the Council of the Cloak she needed a village established under her will onto the deserts Pemben had currently inhabited. Fearing war between the Council of the Cloud, the Council of the Cloak denied to help the Goddess of toxin. Helpless, she consulted her servant, the Sultan of the Snake. He then suggested he go into the First Foundation, disguised as a Pembenite, and possess them with toxin. Sylivoa certainly did consider it, but did not allow it, for the Council of the Cloak would certainly intervene. It did, however, give her an idea on something she could do in the future using the Flaw of Samulus.
The Fifth Conflict: Many, many years went by since the rule of Samulus. The 18th Grand Master had just been chosen- Marus Younborn. He was blessed with knowledge beyond measure by Pemben himself. He was skilled in the art of sorcery, and in the art of the RedStone. This knowledge gave him both control of man and machine. Many Pembenites if his knowledge was too much, and that it should be taken away. However, Pemben anointed him Grand Master for this extensive knowledge. The first few years of his rule were good ones, his extra knowledge aiding him. It was when the Flaw of Samulus shone. In his ancient laws, he decreed that the First Foundation could never deny a child into the city, no matter of the origin. Good in theory, but it was this time Sylivoa placed the Sultan of the Snake, her loyal servant, at the gates of the First Foundation. She had appointed a young baby boy as her servant, to gain access into the First Foundation. They couldn't turn down the child do to ancient law, though they did not know the extent of the child. They saw from his appearance his race was of a toxic origin, they did not know he was the direct Sultan of the Snake. After 16 years, the child now 16 himself, he assumed full power over the dominion of toxic. Unaware of his full power, the Pembenites could tell he had a strong toxic aura, and decided the Grand Master should decide what to do with him. While in the Grand Masters presence, he released his full power onto the Grand Master, possessing him with toxin. The Grand Master sentenced him to exile, but after a week the toxin fully consumed him. His knowledge, superior to both man and machine, aided him in his now toxic doings. He allowed all his Sylivoa to access the First Foundation, he turned his own people against his lord, Pemben. They tore the First Foundation apart from inside itself. And that was the end of the First Foundation.
The Sixth Conflict: At this time the holy land was inhabited by the toxic. The First Foundation was only a memory, barbarianism was all that coated the sandy landscape. The Grand Master under Pemben lived in caves, hidden amongst the few surviving race of Pembenites. The Council of the Cloud nor the Council of the Cloak would intervene, this conflict was up to Pemben and Sylivoa to fight themselves. One day the Grand Master was found missing, and the few surviving Pembenites had no clue on what to do. They ran to the final structure built during the reign of the First Foundation- the tomb of Samulus. It was there they could see liquid toxin seeping from the doors and walls, and they were quite afraid to open it. Nonetheless, they opened, and to the horror, the Grand Master lied dead on the alter. A whisper could be heard in the ears of the Pembenites, 'The tomb of the first- the tomb of the last.' it was then the Sultan of the Snake and the Sylivans slaughtered the last of the Pembenites- and the race went into oblivion. Pemben himself could do nothing without followers, and knowledge could no longer progress through the lands. The barbarianism of the western deserts of the south spread throughout all of Valorium. All but on place that is- Lothair.
The Seventh Conflict: Lothair, being the holy land of the entire Patheon, progressed in knowledge still. Both councils agreed they could not let time go on without progression, and they had to do something about it. They granted the high priest of the Patheon, Hyperion Tilionius, the power to progress in knowledge without help of a god. He left Lothair to rule Tilionius. It was in Tilionius he allowed that city to progress, and he learned the ways of a ruler.
The Eighth Conflict: In Tilionius, Hyperion watched one day as a young, cloaked female entered the city, She seemed to float aimlessly over the various traps and made her way into the mailroom. She then unfolded an envelope, and put it in Hyperions mailbox, then vanished. Baffled, Hyperion quickly got to the mail. 'Hyperion! High priest, you have been chosen by the weakened Pemben to start a new race of Pembenites, and to cleanse the holy land of the toxin! You are the Grand Master of Pemben, do not fail him. Leave Tilionius to pursue another city, holy under Pemben!' Hyperion quickly gave Tilionius to his successor and, with a few new Pembenites, fought against the toxic for a solid year. Hyperion, with the help of the gods, conquered the holy land once more, and started construction building the Second Foundation- a city named Pemben, after the god.
The Ninth Conflict: Hyperion had to design the new government. Using his knowledge, he created a stable and efficient government, and a major office in this was the Master. He was second in command over Pemben, the city. Many months went by before he made his decision- KuroKy. KuroKy had proven a worthy Pembenite, not drawn weary by toxin. He had been on of the first Pembenites to retrieve the holy land. With the office of Master filled, Pemben launched towards a city of great power.
The Tenth Conflict: This conflict includes the war between Pemben and Thidis, a conflict mostly caused by an argument between Pemben, the god, and Glormalk. Info has yet to come.

To impress the lord of their desired path, they would of course do things relating to the domain. The domains include; War (Held by the WarLord), Economy (Held by the MerchantLord), Publicity (Held by the Lord of the People), Law/RP (Held by the Lord of Knowledge), and Architecture (Held by the Lord of Architecture).
Upon appointment, the Prince/Princesses are entitled to serve their lord. Princes and Princesses are only the second rank above the Commoners, but they are not ashamed. It is difficult work to impress a lord, and few do so.
Princes of War are the town official soldiers. They fight in the name of Pemben, bringing glory to the name. When put on trial, they are given a special military trial, where the Grand Master himself conducts as the judge.
Merchant Princes work on improving economy. If a Pembenite found himself low on funds, he can register with a Merchant Prince on receiving a loan, or a donation. If the Merchant Prince sees it fit, he convenes with the Merchant Lord to give the donation. They also make sure the town is earning money, and make sure the trade is balanced.
Princes of the People serve the people themselves. They make sure votes are rightfully conducted, and collect them. If found wavering the votes in there favor, the punishment is exile, with a bounty placed for their head.
Princes of Knowledge write the various laws and manuscripts of Pemben. They are the keepers of lore, and keep watch over the Library of Pemben. They also write the various 'Bills' of the city, un-official laws that have to be put into full Law by the Lord of Knowledge himself. They are the biggest RP oriented dominion.
Princes of Architecture are the official town builders. They work on the towns biggest build projects, and must prove themselves worthy of the part. Builders get special perks if they prove themself one of the best, such as designing their house above ground.
After the Prince/Princesses are the Lords/Ladies. They rule over each domain with a firm hand, proven great in the art of their domain. They are appointed at the Festival of Pemben by the Master and the Grand Master. If a lord proves unworthy of the role, he will be demoted once more unto Princemenship.
The Warlord leads the armies of Pemben. His name is feared, but he is to put his work more into training armies then solo-fighting. He must prove great leadership, and of a solider of his domain is accused of law breaking, he judges the trial.
The MerchantLord runs town economy. Anything massive, of course, must be reported to the Grand Master. He has the power to give loans and donations to townies, or even discuss assisting a weaker town in funding. He must prove his riches, and show he knows his way with money. He also runs town trade.
The Lord of the People makes sure everyone is pleased. He tallies votes as well. He must be well liked by the community, and it is his duty to make sure the community is happy. He also has permission to assign houses and recruit.
The Lord of Knowledge is the lawmaker and lore keeper of the city. He has a firm hand, judging all trials but those over the soldiers. He must be fair and just, not one who thinks of himself. He has the power to sign laws, and to make sure everyone keeps them. He also has permissions to override applications as denied, if he sees a potential lawbreaker. He hold the biggest RP position. He also helps the Grand Master in recording the will of the gods.
The Lord of Architecture is the towns head builders. He must be a Very talented builder. He runs town builds, and if he sees an 'Eyesore' he has permissions to tear down, or order it tore down. He makes sure the town is beautiful, no matter how much time he must put into his work.
Above the Lords are the Grand Princes. Appointed servants of he Master, they are trained to be possible future leaders of the city. Chosen among both Lords and Princes, they are to be respected. Though their purpose is to be trained to advance onto the highest positions, they are not to be messed around with, for the hold great influence on the Master and Grand Master. Grand Princes may also hold a Lord position at the same time.
Above the Grand Princes is the Master. A position of great power, the Master hold great authority within the city. He hold all the power of the Grand Master, but he must seek permission to use it. He is to be respected, for he can influence the Grand Master greatly, and getting on his bad side doesn't end up too well.
The highest rank of authority is the Grand Master. He is the holy servant chosen by Pemben, the god, himself to rule over his holy land. His power is unmatched. Disrespecting him would not be good, at all.
Then there are the Contributors. They donate large amounts to the town, wether it be Souls, Resources, or Time. They have access to structures most don't, and receive larger housing.

Pemben Military
The military of Pemben is open to all Pembenites, no matter their governmental ranking. The Princes of War, of course, are above all the average military forces. This being, Princes of War and the Lord of War are the towns special forces for the elite PvPers. They are not to be mistaken as high ranking militia forces, their a division on their own for battles and fights the military can't handle. To achieve ranks in the military one must acquire all the badges of their current rank. I repeat, ANY Pembenites can take place in the military, no matter their dominion.
Upon being accepted into the military, you are granted the rank of 'Recruit.' Recruits are the lowest ranking military soldiers, proving themselves in random battles or arena battles. They do not fight in moderate to severe battles, only in small ones to prove their place. There are no badges for Recruits, promotion is granted upon proving themselves.
Above the recruits are the Soldiers. The soldiers make up most of the military forces, charging into battle in the name of Pemben. Normally, the Lord of War watches the soldiers for possible Princes of War. They fight in small-moderate battles, and on occasion severe battles if needed. The badges of the soldiers include;
~Badge of Chofon~ This badge can be obtained by proving yourself worthy under Chofon, God of War. To do this, one must partake in 2 Moderate battles, and 4 small battles.
~Badge of Mastery~ To obtain this badge, one must master a class.
~Badge of Respect~ To obtain this badge, one must prove skills in leading a small task force.
After one achieves all the badges of the Soldier, they can convene with the Master or Grand Master to receive the promotion to Knowledge Keep. Knowledge Keeps are the main forces in defending the city. They also fight in battles, from small to severe. They lead soldiers, mostly in defense. The battles of the Knowledge Keep include;
~Badge of Valor~ To obtain this badge, one must prove his devotion in defending the city, no matter the costs.
~Badge of Defense~ To obtain this badge, one must defend the city against 3 attacks without death.
~Badge of Victory~ To obtain this badge, one must live through a victorious battle at a severe stage.
Another path a solider with completed badges may take can be for supporting the city on the offensive side. When a soldier achieves all soldier badges, they can convene with the Master or Grand Master to receive the promotion to Entailer. Entailers are the main forces on Pembens offensive side. They also defend from attacks against the city. They lead soldiers, mostly in offense. They are skilled tacticians, able to defeat defending armies using sheer wits of the battlegrounds. The badges of the Entailer include;

~Badge of Supreme Victory~ To obtain this badge, one must live through 3 victorious battles at severe stage, and one Catastrophic battle.
