I have a 2.1 GHz dual core with 3 GB of ddr3 RAM and a crappy ati radeon 4250 graphics card. The 4250 has a core speed of 500 mhz and 256 MB of memory.

But the point was that it does people so much good besides those bad features.

This really should be more than enough to run minecraft at a sensible speed, are you sure its not something else slowing down your machine?

Turning down your mip-mapping quality in the ATi control panel should help a little.

But there's also a lot more you can do to squeeze a few more FPS's out of it.
