This is an excellent idea! Its nature like and would be a good offensive skill. Obviously there would have to be a percentage of the amount of damage that is reflected back.Maybe for the level 60 skill you could use the new enchantment to 1.4.6 "Thorns" maybe have it as a group buff that applies it to the entire party?
This is also a really cool idea, but I feel that mystic should at least keep one other type of damaging skill, perhaps make it so the player takes damage over time too while being rooted as if the type of plant rooting the players is a thorn bush.What about mass-root? Works like an AoE, however the mystic gets slowed while casting it (2 sec warm-up?) and if the mystic takes dmg, the root breaks on everyone affected. Will be a strong support skill if the mystic stays behind his team, then casts it.
How about 5 armor-ignoring damage?Mass-Root with a small DoT effect, 10dmg each second they are rooted?
