We play this hardcore server for a reason, we love the thrill it brings us, the excitement, I frankly don't care if a spawner runs 3 times faster than I do and comes to rape me. Thats part of the game, and so is PvP. Unfortunatly we have to TRAIN for our levels to be more powerful players and in turn pose a challenge to our "raiders" or people just trying to murder you. Thats when your trusty Skeleton spawners come in (the legal kind) when you grind for hours at (and die alot aswell) to make yourself better and unlock the skill you need to prosper.

However:

Recently mods and admins alike have been going to mob spawners that spawns skeletons considering thats the ONLY mob you can remotely control without them totally raping you...which they still manage to do. They tell the people there that the spawner ceiling has to be 3 blocks high. Well that just means the whole design on how to avoid dying after only 2 kills in a mob spawner is out the window then!

For example the double skeleton spawner at Newerth used to be an open space where the skeletons could appear in and then you can lead them to a 2x1 hallway where you can kill them one by one and gain decent exp this way. I got to lvl 50 Necro doing this, and I was training there, Kainzo gave us the OK saying the spawner design was fine. You can still get hit by the skeletons and I think thats what people dont understand. I die tons of times down there because i get too close, or they fire arrows at you as they spawn, or they push each other into the tunnel and gang bang you. having a 2 high ceiling in the spawner doesnt mean they can kill you.

Most of the citizens of Orion are distressed by this unwritten rule. We all share the spawner there and now nobody is able to level without suffering a HEFTY exp loss on death. When you kill skeletons its usually 30 exp each unspeced, 19.8 exp speced. So with this new thing what was made up for spawners we can probably kill 2-3 skeletons for about 90 exp unspeced, and 59.5 exp speced and then loose twice, three times, four times, even five times or more exp when you die by them depending on how high your level is. (the higher the level, the more exp you loose at death) I hardly find this a solution or a fix at all and I would love for this issue to be clarified, or revised.

Please post your views on this matter.

Also, if you have not used a skeleton spawner like this, do not respond because you simply won't understand what I'm talking about if you don't see it yourself.

Thank you.

P.S. The Training Grounds that Wizards can teleport to is USELESS. Its a death trap, you got there, all the spawners activate, and you get gang raped by all sorts of monsters at the same time. How is this a training ground at all? Its a sacrificial pit of DOOM is what it is I tell you! :p

I have to agree with merikku. I have spent multiple hours and even more deaths at spawner's and im only level 36 rogue. leveling while mining takes alot of time. almost 2 days of mining for a single level! I can't do much as an unspeced rogue and today tried the 3 high ceiling for a spawner and lost almost 300XP without gaining a single kill!

Now, this is also a problem.

I think Kainzo should go back to the old exp and make mobs more rewardig, because at the moment, the 'veteran' players that have been on the server have an advantage over the new players, it's not fair to them. In six hours today, I got one level. Its not fun, hardcore does not mean hardcore ass rape. Hardcore is suppose to be fun. Just like Herocraft and Minecraft.

Thats my point Trok +1

I'm not veteran, but I'm here to stay. And if I'm spending my time here, it should be fun. This is a game is it not?

I believe this rule is unfair also... I used to be able to beat dem skeles down with my diamond hoe in newerth spawner even as a druid i died many times from them D: But now i'm a crafter so i dont have to deal with those aimbotting skeletons :3

Buuut I also see where Kainzo is coming from in this, he wants people to work to get to 50 not sit in a spawner for 1 hours and already be level 40... He wants Heroes to last, not be mastered and done in a day.

I know thats what an Rpg is all about, but when you do that to the experience, you should probably reset everyone, for balance reasons, or not change it at all.

Then the exp or damage should be fixed.
I mean hell, Kainzo said this was alright before. (the spawner design)

I agree with Merikku too. I accidentally voted yes so It should actually be 7 - no, and 1 -yes.

When you grind for a couple hours and only get one level at level 16, you kinda give up. :(

Kingtom Supports this message. I want to grind? Screw you Kingtom! Get raped in 2 hits while you get 2 hits with your 5 damage diamond hoe, run away, pray up, then get 2 hits in again! Repeat for the next minutes, Gratz! You just killed one skeleton!

Alright, My opinion on this is that YES, I know we have to work for our levels, but the way I see it is that if you can't even kill some mobs without getting half your HP taken away within 10 seconds, how are we supposed to train at all. On all the RPG's I've played, Leveling is not too hard and you won't die in 3 hits from mobs. I think if your going to not let the users make some kind of restriction's to the mobs attack, at least give the mobs an exp boost so it's worth the difficulty in killing them.

Aparently there is a "legal" 2 high mob spawner. @Trok was using it and Kainzo teled to him on his livestream, saw it, and ignored it. Trok said @jwplayer0 made it. Let's hear it fools.

No Jw said there was a way, he didn't do it for me.

I added places that were 3 high so they can hit me, located in all four corners, I believe thats fair because then they can still hit me at times, and a lot of times at that.
