My Macbook pro runs minecraft, starcraft 2, left 4 dead 2, team fortress 2, and many other games flawlessly. I have a PC also, and yes, they are better for gaming (more gaming options) but Macs can run games just fine. It comes down to preference of OS, and I prefer Snow Leopard over Windows 7, but I do use both constantly.

At work I have two computers, a Windows 7 machine and a windows XP machine JUST SO I CAN remote into the XP machine and bring it up in a window. You can't do everything in 7 that you can do in XP(praise FSM for dual monitors).

Also, I prefer PC, but not because of Windows, but because of Linux.

Mac's a good for alot of people because it's all locked up, you can't really add onto it, but thanks to that you can't really fuck it up.

Windows is good because alot of applications are compatible with it, however people who SHOULD BE Mac users will get viruses and bitch all day long.

Linux is good because it can be whatever you want it to be. It is built on UNIX, which is incredibly secure. You can't get viruses on it unless YOU find the virus and give it permission to run. You don't need to know what you are doing just to make it work, there are a few distrobutions of linux (like Ubuntu) that don't require you to use the command line at all, just like Windows and Mac.

tl;dr I like Linux. It's all the benefits of Mac, with even more freedoms than Windows. It does alot of indie games natively too, so with the way the vg industry is going I miss nothing

It should also be noted that IMO the reason macs dont get viruses is because they have hardly any viruses to get in the first place. However, were the majority of people using macs instead of pcs, guaranteed the number of viruses for macs would go way up.

i actually have both and it depends on what kind of game im playing to determine which i use. I mostly prefer to use my mac for gaming and video editting with my modelling stuff and use the PC for more technical and experimental stuff like coding and things, but unfortunately there are games that require a PC.

I've always been interested in building my own PC but never knew where to even begin to learn how. I've read guides but they are all several months or years old and I know how with computer components when you buy the most up to date part, a week later there's a better one.

I have one Windows PC on school and one mac at home, and an old windows coumputer I run LINUX on.
The windows computer on school runs windows 7, and is the worst bad ass computer i have ever used. You can never trust it and it is SLOW. One thing Microsoft should have done was to make a number of how good your hardware needs to be to run Windows, cause that computer have ruined my idea of how windows is :p
At home I most often use my mac to everything, not much problems, I make some easy java scrips just for fun and write some music :p
The LINUX computer I have just for fun, and trying stuff, I have never had any problem that was not caused by me :D

Made specifically with that in mind, only talks about price ranges and what you should look for in each part. also tells you what the parts do in "simple" terms, open the links in a new tab to get to each part of the guide.

I have a mac laptop and a pc desktop. Imo macs are better for dicking around on the internet and homework related stuff. But for gaming I use a PC.

Yeah, that NFL analogy was pretty stupid... You can definitely compare a lot of things in the world and deem one "better". Between the PC and Mac? Not so much.

-> Vista = worst OS ever
Windows 7 = pretty good OS. Not lying. <-

I think the problem that I have with Macs is the owners who think that their computer is perfect and far superior to PCs. .

You've won my respect.

And yeah, I personally like PC's better because well, you can dick with them. But this also means you can fuck them up pretty bad. My main problem with Mac's (apple products in general) is that they're retardedly over-priced. And before anyone says anything like, "go make some money," Apple has the highest profit margins out of any company in the WORLD. Which means, they over-price their stuff more than anyone else. I will admit their products are nice, but Steve Jobs honestly stole a lot of new technology and just copyrighted it before anyone else, ergo he "created" touchscreens.

TL;DR : PC = people who like to dick around
Mac = Porn
