ADDED: Please use this link for Winrar (Windows) if you don't already have it: http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html

Mac Users: You're default unzipping/unarchiving program should work, if not, use Unarchiver.

This thread is for those who seem to have endless issues installing the aforementioned mods.

If you follow the following steps, you'll have Minecraft 1.7.2 running Rei's Minimap, Macromod, Liteloader, and Optifine:

1) Download a fresh copy of Minecraft 1.7.2. (You do this in the Minecraft Launcher by adjusting the options for the version.)
2) Run Minecraft, then close it.
3) Install the Liteloader Mod located here (Be sure to use the latest release.): http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1868280-172api-liteloader-for-minecraft-172/ To install, just doubleclick the .exe or .jar to install just like any other program.
4) Run Minecraft with the Liteloader profile (when you run it, you should see the Liteloader tab on the launch screen), then close it.
5) Place the Macromod file into the 'Mods\1.7.2' folder. The download is located here (Be sure to use the latest release.): http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/467504-172-macro-keybind-mod-01002-beta-release/
5a) Run Minecraft and choose the Liteloader profile in the profiles dropdown before clicking play.
6) Click play (when you run it, Macromod will open a config screen), then close it.
7) Using Winrar, open the Optifine .jar located here (get the latest 1.7.2 version): http://optifine.net/downloads.php
8) Also open your Liteloader version .jar with Winrar from your .minecraft/versions folder.
9) Copy the Optifine .jar contents into the 1.7.2 Liteloader .jar file.
10) Using Winrar, open the Rei's Minimap .zip located here (get the latest 1.7.2 version): http://www.games-utilities.com/reis-minimap-mod-minecraft-1-4-4/
11) Copy the Rei's Minimap .jar contents into the 1.7.2 Liteloader .jar file.

I've not found a proper way to install Rei's for Mac, so if anyone figures that out and can post instructions or a link, that would be helpful.

12) In the 1.7.2 Liteloader .jar file, delete the META-INF folder.
13) You should now be happily running Minecraft 1.7.2 (be sure you choose to run it with the Liteloader profile.)

I hope this clears confusion and assists people in getting their Mods up and running.

Heromod will be updated soon as well, so keep your eye out for that.

UPDATE: TabbyChat is now updated to 1.7.2

It is available at http://www.mediafire.com/download/3vvo7k1i4f48age/TabbyChat-1.11.0-pr-all.zip
You're in for a treat! Installation is as simple as unzipping the archive, and placing the .litemod file in the \mods folder of your .minecraft version. (DriveLetter:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods)

Mac users should be able to work out how to install this as well (place in your \mods\1.7.2 directory.

ENJOY!
(Note: As of now, item links do NOT work with TabbyChat...or at least I couldn't find a way to make them.)

NEW UPDATE: WorldEditCUI is available here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2171206-172-worldeditcui/

I'll be updating the Wiki for Subregions soon!

Nice to see someone make this easy for people. I did this yesterday and found it quite easy, so this should be a cake walk for people now. There are also Youtube videos out there for anyone that is really struggling.

I have tried this in the past and for some reason always run into issues after deleting the META-INF file from the .jar for some reason this always seems to cause my client to crash. Can anyone explain? Thank you in advance!

I didn't experience this problem, were you able to get it to work in the long run?

Also, for linking purposes in game if anyone wants. :)

You should be deleting the META-INF when you're game is not running. If you follow my steps verbatim, you should have no issues.

This shouldn't be necessary. The Optifine jar files are autoinstallers. I recommend first downloading and installing Optifine by simply executing the jar, and then installing LiteLoader. When you install LiteLoader, check the "chain to OptiFine" checkbox. Rei's minimap does have to be installed manually.

I tried it multiple times the way you're suggesting, and while I do agree that Optifine should be able to be installed automatically using the installer, the 'Chain' function, to me, appeared broken. The only way I was able to get all of the aforementioned mods working together was to do 1.7.2 Base>LiteLoader>Macromod>Manual Optifine and Manual Rei's>Delete META-INF. People are more than welcome to try the Installer for Optifine before Liteloader and try chaining, but if that doesn't work, they'll need to do it as my original post instructs. Also to note, the auto optifine method didn't work on the 4 computers I set up mods on.

Up to the moving the macro mod into mods, everything is fine. But when I move the files from optifine to the liteloader.jar, I get stuck on the screen that shows MC Patches and "Play" . Every time I click "Play," it shows a loading bar but doesn't really log me on,

It sounds to me like you haven't deleted the Meta-INF as that's the only thing I can think of that would cause that.

Please note that LiteLoader can be used separately from Forge and that it does not require Forge to work, it can work as a standalone modloader now. Also note that you can install the Optifine .jar into the 'mods' folder and it'll still work (but this requires Forge).

@whiteninja1970 You're not supposed to drag n' drop the files from the OptiFine .jar into the Minecraft .jar, it's not recommended, you can install OptiFine by running the .jar, or having LiteLoader chain OptiFine into another Minecraft version .jar for you, which makes things a lot easier for compatibility.

I found that trying to chain Optifine didn't work for Liteloader (at least on the versions I used...this may have been fixed as of now). Also, I never really saw the point with Forge...as of now, there isn't really any point (in my mind) to even bother having it.

So I clicked the link for the download of the reis minimap .jar, but it doesn't seem like theres any .jars. When I downloaded it, it gave me a folder called "[1" and inside it is a "bah.class" and a folder "reifnsk."

Right, when you open it, it gives you the reifnsk and the .class file. After you open the .zip for Rei's you copy those contents into your Minecraft Version .jar (which for this tutorial, would be the Liteloader 1.7.2 one), as stated in the steps.

I did noticed the steps said it was a Rei's .jar file that you'd get from the download; I rectified that to say '.zip' as the file you receive from the page for Rei's is, indeed, a .zip file. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Ok for that step, i created a "mods" folder since I didn't have one. Seeing as I created the "mods" folder, theres no "1.7.2" folder. However, theres a folder called "versions" and in it is a "1.7.2" folder. Where do I put it?

Edit: Nvm. It put a folder for me.

Yeah when you run once after installing liteloader, it should make the mods folder for you. Inside of that is the 1.7.2 folder.

Excuse me, I'm having a slight problem with the installation of Rei's minimap. I am currently running Minecraft 1.7.2 with liteloader, forge, Macro/Keybind mod, GLSD Shaders, Sonic Ether's Shaderpack, and Optifine. When I attempt to install Rei's my game will no longer launch. I pull up my launcher, click play with the correct profile selected, and it closes the launcher, and then reopens the launcher instead of actually launching the game.

I installed Rei's by dragging the "reifnsk" folder and the "bah.class" file into the "1.7.2-LiteLoader1.7.2.jar", and then deleting the META-INF folder. After receiving the error the first time I reinstalled the liteloader jar and got the game and all the other mods working just fine. I then repeated the above steps but didn't delete the META-INF folder this time, same result. Just putting the reifnsk folder in the .jar doesn't cause the error, but the minimap does not work. I tried installing just the reifnsk folder and deleting the META-INF, but that resulted in the same error occurring.

If anyone has any advice that would be amazing.

I believe Rei's doesn't work with Forge currently, per the mod...if you're using my setup as detailed above, you don't need Forge, at all.
