While I agree with you on a low town limit, I'm not sure I agree on map wipe, it's just not there yet. I think create the limit, and not allow any new towns.
Next map, when it comes in the FUTURE (not any time soon mind you), then impose a town limit. 15-20.

A map wipe, right now, is a little too soon. But, the 10-15 town limit, alongside audits and tax days, MUST make a comeback. I believe that they did for a short period, whereas Lastivity organised them, but they don't happen anymore! :(

I agree with Detarbilate and Barnubus: We need to help noobs out. Alot of players (Me included) kill noobs, and it just teaches them to not trust anyone they meet and murder anyone they come by. So, this basically leads to a worse community. I think it would be a good idea to have a special spawn for noobies that forces them to read the signs, and perhaps gives them some tools to help them survive in the world.

One thing I have seen, is that alot of noobs don't realize that they need a town to survive and get protection. So out in the wilderness, they get ganked by a strong player, and ragequit.

I know that I have killed noobs, and I know that I am part of the problem, but, from this time on, I'll stop killing noobs and start helping them.

Hopefully, this will be one step in the right direction for Herocraft.
Thanks,

I like the idea of getting rid of the TD and putting the shops alongside the road, it would bring more PvP onto the roads like there once was. Now i'm not even afraid to run ALL the way down a road because 1/5 of the time I find no one to kill. If this were to happen people would be scared to go down the great hero roads like it should be imo.

This won't get rid of the problem of inactive townships, a poor community, ect. This'll boost one thing: PvP. That won't solve the issue.

2. Box towns with glass roofs which disallow wars or general raiding.
5. The grind is way too awful.
7. Too many small towns with inactive members. (do citizen audits even happen anymore?)
8. Not enough fun events

I agree %100 with the things above. Most towns have the generic box town that lacks creativity, sure the walls may have a nice design but come on, make the walls unique and build it to match with the land not a perfect box. The grind is almost always painful in any game unless you guys can find a problem to fix it like adding quests maybe which could cause repetitive quests which is also grinding and bad. I also think audits need done, I have a lot of people brag to me about how there town has like +50 members and when I go to look at the list pretty much 95% of them I have never seen or have been inactive. Fun events are also always helpful.

6. Map is too big and towns too spread.

I disagree with this, I actually complain too much that most towns are too close to spawn. I hate how everything is like a barren wasteland between towns near spawn. I find it much more realistic to have them spread out so each has its own distinct characteristics and environment and such. (I'm sure most medieval general's back in the day just didn't walk down the street a few blocks and have their enemies or allies right there. They had to walk quite a while).

I never said that it would get rid of those problems, i'm just trying to solve that issue, haven't found a solution to the others that other people haven't already said ^_^

Once the no-pvp is taken off of spawn, I think quite a few problems will disappear. (And my/sig/pandamans DG plot will finally have a real use)

We wont be removing Heroes from Herocraft - sorry.

It is step 1 of our multiple step process to make Herocraft full blown RPG (and eventually MMORPG).

Heroes enables you do many more things than it restricts.. On the topic of "PVP" - we present players with the choice of many different gameplay options, this includes PVP/PVE and economic factors. We do not advertise ourselves as a strict "PVP only" server.

I am closing this topic because it is beating a dead horse, we have no intent on changing Heroes or removing it from the server. The automatic town regions portion of HeroTowns is already completed, just not implemented yet - this will effectively allow towns a much greater area to protect and will hopefully cut down on ugly structures.

Towns will control chunks, not blocks.
