Gab's Modded Minecraft Jar Library

Here is my list of jars for both 1.7.3 and 1.8+. I'm doing this partially because some people never learned to install mods on minecraft, and others try to use jars that are installed with other things. Either way, I'm going to continue doing this until someone says otherwise.

This is for use of people registered on herocraft (which means you must be whitelisted, so i guess you all have accounts)
Jars do not work by themselves, You must rename them as minecraft.jar (I recommend keeping a copy of the jar you download somewhere to backup just in case, but also you should keep a copy of the current 1.8.1 jar (1.8.1 was just released).

Spoiler: BETA Jars For those who want to experience Minecraft BETA

1.7.3 Jars

Clean 1.7.3 (For those who want to install their own mods however they please)
-minecraft.jar(1.7.3clean)

MCPatcher patched for HD Texturepacks (Again, for those who want to use different mods)
-minecraft.jar(1.7.3HD)

Herocraft approved mods jar (Includes MCPatcher patched and Neo's Mod Pack)
-minecraft.jar(1.7.3Heroes)

Herocraft NON APPROVED (HD, Neo's Mod Pack, Aether Mod)
-minecraft.jar(1.7.3Aether)
-Resources folder (REQUIRED TO RUN AETHER MOD)

SSP Use Jars
-minecraft.jar(Buildcraft) -Contains ONLY Buildcraft
-minecraft.jar(FullBuildcraft) - Neo's modpack + Buildcraft

1.8.1 Jars

Clean 1.8.1 (For those who want a vanilla client for backup)
-minecraft.jar-1.8.1

MCPatcher patched for HD Texturepacks (Again, for those who don't want any mods installed but HD)
-minecraft.jar(HD)

Modloader installed with MCPatcher (For those who know what mods to install, the base)
-minecraft.jar(1.8.1modloader)

Herocraft approved mods jar (MCPatcher, HDTexturepack, Neo's Mod Pack)
-minecraft.jar(HDHero)

Accepting mod requests that don't interfere with SMP

*Jars are hosted on a seperate website so as to avoid any issues with Herocraft.

HOW TO INSTALL THESE JARS!
(Because some people don't know how)

Windows (Vista, 7)
1) Click on Start (windows bubble on the lower left hand corner)
2) type in run and push enter
3) type %appdata%/.minecraft push enter(or return)
4) locate the bin folder
5) open bin folder
6) right click on minecraft and rename as minecraft (version number this minecraft is)
7) copy the downloaded minecraft jar into the bin folder and rename that as minecraft
8) DO NOT throw away any jars, as you should always have a backup of jars
9) Start minecraft launcher as you normally do
10) Enjoy!

Mac OS X (10.4-10.7)
1) In Finder push command + shift + g
2) type /Users/(your username here)/Library/Application Support/minecraft then push enter(or return)
3) locate bin folder
4) rename the minecraft.jar as minecraft.jar(whatever version this is)
5) copy the downloaded minecraft.jar into this bin folder
6) rename the downloaded minecraft.jar(whatever version you downloaded) as minecraft.jar
7) DO NOT throw away jars, they are good for backups
8) Start minecraft as you normally would
9) Enjoy!

I thought jar distribution was illegal and also not allowed? (hence why it's been removed from other posts and been changed instead to an installer or something for neo_exdeath's post)

Though I still think it's a great idea to have a nice little library full of modded jars.

Jars updated. Currently trying to get Aether mod installed with the resources folder etc. as Aether is a pretty well used mod for 1.7.3 (hasn't updated to 1.8 yet)

Would you guys like me to post up 1.8 jars when they come out?

Likely did something wrong here but I'm stuck on the "Updating Minecraft - Done loading" screen.

I completely removed my MC stuff, reinstalled, logged in. Then replaced the minecraft.jar with the HDHeroes download. Renamed it to minecraft.jar and now I'm stuck after logging in.

I just tested the jar on my computer and it's working as 1.8.1 (are you logging in to herocraft.zapto.org:1337?)

Try force updating from the Minecraft Launcher. Then replace the minecraft.jar with the download and rename the download as minecraft.jar . You should be able to log in fine. Are you able to start up singleplayer?

My pleasure Currently you'll have to switch out 11.7.3 jar to get on live map and then switch out to 1.8.1 jar when you wanna test Heroes on 1.8.1 so keep both jars handy and rename them when switching them.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong . I downloaded the 1.7.3 jar with Neo's Mod Pack and I switched it out with the updated 1.8 jar that I have. However, it's automatically updating to 1.8 when i run MC. I NEED to play Herocraft! HELP!

I downloaded an MC Launcher from minecraft.net right before I did that, but it seemed the same as my previous launcher. Should it?

Ah, you need to actually change the shortcut to the new launcher, or it uses the old one. So, what I would do is save it to the desktop and rename it MC New launch, etc., and then just put the old one somewhere else, and un-rename the new launcher.
