Forums <-> Game Intergration [Your Suggestions!]

If all the proctors direly want the ability to whitelist from the forums/website - it will be coming in.

However.... we may be putting in a greylist first and foremost with restrictive abilities for guests and then allowing the proctors to 'whitelist' the users into 'normal' users. I'm not sure how to go about granting proctors the ability to change the user's group - but I may be going about it the entirely wrong way - right @Sleaker ?

Lol just easier for some people when they are reviewing apps but cannot log in, so whitelisting from the site would be a nice added feature.

I do know about the greylist, and like the idea to be honest.

Yup. Whitelisting from work would be a snap with this (well, whenever I catch an app that @Angyles didn't spot already!)

We were actually able to do this via IRC before.... we could run commands via IRC chat if you had OP / voice power... that's an option for sure...

We don't have to transfer things over to MySQL, it would just make it easier as PHP and MySQL work as a pair. If you could do it via IRC, I could probably use that to do it via the forums

you actually can't - the reason why it worked via IRC was due to having a bot always logged into the irc channel, the bot was run via a bukkit plugin, so it would parse commands coming in and interpret them into bukkit stuff.

This isn't possible with PHP without changing everything to SQL, or writing some special communications to the mc server.

I think I'll just wait till we get the new hardware and Kainzo is willing to transfer the whitelist to SQL. I could write a plugin or something to allow communication - but - it's not really worth it

I don't know how many people use minemail in game, but it's very forgetable. If sending a quick message in game would send like a carbon copy to the user's forum inbox, and still be answered in game like normal minemail that would be cool.


Sounds like a programming mess though.

Well, possibly - but that would take me quite sometime to do . I'll focus on other things first -but in the future. Possibly (Or at least the ability to message people from the forums in some way)
