Something I realized is that I don't see my farmer getting XP from breeding animals or planting crops - both of which are major parts of farming. Considering there are easy ways to bar players from abusing this new XP (juvenile animals cannot breed, and blocks broken don't give XP if placed too recently), I think it should be seriously considered. This would reward players especially dedicated to this profession for RP purposes. For planting, I think the XP rewarded should be at least 1XP. Anything less and this would still fail to redress the issue. For breeding, I do not know what would be appropriate because it seems that breeding takes considerably less effort. However, I still think that this update would be necessary.
Other ways to address the replant XP issue would be to allow a new skill for mass replanting (which would be too much effort, in my opinion), or allowing farmers to auto-replant when they use a hoe (but not giving XP).
Also, overgrowth should be able to work on more than just trees. It should have the current ability, yes, but also the ability to function like bonemeal. If you aim it at a crop, as a farmer, you should be able to use overgrowth. It might become overused after doing this. Maybe you can fix that by making it area of effect and increasing the cooldown timer.
