What about a class that specialises in explosives?
My idea is that it'd be a Rogue class and probably replace Thief, which could be bumped down to a profession. Thief's pretty similar to Ninja anyway from what I understand? I think the whole gimmick aspect of stealing and lockpicking covered chests could easily be shifted to a profession class instead.
Possible skills could be liiiiiike:
-Explosion (55): uses TNT as a reageant, basically just a TNT explosion from the user's body that doesn't damage the user (or could do minimal damage) to damage everyone around you. Like a more powerful, self-damaging pulse.
-Grenade (10ish): ranged attack that uses a reageant (gunpowder, possibly eggs) akin to Fireball but explodes on impact like a ghast fireball. It does the same damage as Fireball, but as a trade-off for using a reageant it can still do explosion damage even if you miss the target. To counteract this, it'd have a slightly longer cooldown so people can't spam it as fast as Fireball.
-Landmine (50ish) Reageant: gunpowder (again). Summons a creeper that's frozen in place and will detonate after 2-3 seconds. Does not damage the terrain underground because that could be exploitable. I'm not sure how that SheepBomb move works, but maybe it could be replaced by that.
-SonicBoom ? Maybe rework this skill to do less damage and it's main use would be an AoE silencer, so it'd have to be bumped down from Beguiler's 55 skill if it got nerfed. The main point is to counter casters, since that's rogues' main roles. But to have it do damage, combined with explosion, might be a bit op.
-CreeperHarvest (30ish): Bomber's version of UnholyRitual, harvests a creeper for more gunpowder instead of mana. Works on any creepers in the wild and has a longish cooldown ~30s.
Alternatively, is a temporary buff that has a Looting effect on creepers for 30sec and has a 3 min cooldown or something.
-SmokeBomb (40ish): AoE crowd control along the lines of Despair, etc. Reageant: gunpowder, temporarily impairs sight and movement of nearby enemies.
As for weapons, Bombers would lose swords and AssassinsBlade and maybe just get axes like Rangers or something. Maybe use TNT as an item like Bard's jukebox.
In any case, I'm not suggesting this for any time in the near future, just an idea for future class reworking between maps, etc.
