Bug Wolves not doing damage?

Pretty self-explanatory title, but anyways:
Walking around, found a wolf; tamed it, no issues there.
However when it went aggro on two different mobs, a skeleton and zombie, it seemingly did no damage.
I've only tested this once - any other rangers having this issue?

N.B. This was one 1.2.3, extremely unlikely, but perhaps fixed in 1.2.4?

Are you a ranger? Because I thought only rangers could tame wolves. However, maybe its that anyone can tame them, but only with rangers do they do damage

We'll need to check into this... I'll do some tests - any rangers able to confirm?

we don't do anything with wolf damage besides the normal monster damage adjustments from the config (ie we don't squelch it )
