It depends where it happens. If it happened in a middle class+ neighborhood, someone would call it in immediatly, but in some *Not All* people that are used to death (high gang affiliated towns) it could happen there. It all just depends on who passes them by. Im sure everyone on here would do it, and im sure everyone here has been brought up in a decent environment. So it could, and im sure has happened in the USA. Just like hit and runs, many times they kill them, or seriously injure them, and drive away. Did you know, a hit and run is less severe than a DUI ticket? Basically says, if you are drunk and hit someone, drive away, sober up, and then admit to it, and you would be better off. I know if I found someone dead, I would be a little nervous to call in the police because our justice system is a piece of shit, and I would be on the target list.

But you dont know the shitholes there are in China. They make ours look like its fantasy land. Recently saw a video of a place in China where they recycle and take apart computers,tvs, etc. The town is in ruins, they melt electronics, and the air is poisonous. Many die within years of being there. But they do it because they need money. Many KIDS do the work there, and im sure if they saw a kid dead in the street, it wouldnt be that odd to them. And to think China is a superpower, and yet this happens. It is beyond me.

My girlfriends brother was killed by a hit a run when he was 2. Its 20 years later and I know it still haunts them everyday. We were watching a movie the other day and a car struck and killed a little boy, she cried for 4 hours because she had to relive seeing her own son die.

Also I have a little girl of my own only a year or so younger then the girl in that video.

I know, even in movies, I can see peoples heads get blown off, but the second a kid dies, I instantly feel bad, and its even in a movie. Children dying is never something to joke about. Children are innocent, and that one was taken way before her time. It is very sad, but instead, and I hope this is true for all of you, that given that situation, you would all of helped in any way possible. We can not change the actions of others, but we can make sure we would not copy them.

Take this as a warning. Even if it isnt something as serious as this, just like if it was someone being bullied, know you would help them in any way. Yes those people were in the wrong that passed by without doing anything, but it is too late to change anything. I hope they all saw the video and saw how much of heartless bastards they were.

I'm sorry that I'm not the most serious person in the world. I'm a realist. This stuff happens every day in China, and is nothing to them. Have you ever seen Nazi beheadings? It's much worse then that, I can tell you. But thats not the point. People shouldn't sit here and dwell on the fact that the people in china dont value the life of a small child. We shouldn't be watching it at all. Their country is their business. We live in a country where things like that dont happen, and when they do, the criminals are caught. Yes I feel bad for the kid, I've got a soul. But i'm a cheery guy. I cant sit in a thread full of sorrow and not try to cheer someone up. Even if you and Farroes took the small joke too seriously, it made many others smile. And I dont think you should judge someone by what they say just because it doesn't fit your morals. Keep reading that post and you'll see that I say its a fucked up video. I know it is. But I dont think we need to sit and dwell on the fact that China is fucked, cause we know that. Amgroma didn't mean to disrespect anyone, but inadvertently he did anyways. I think I understand his mindset in this situation- it reminds me of me, trying to find funny things for my siblings to do as a child sitting in a funeral service, so they didn't need to pay attention to the sadness coming from the speaker and the attendees.

Now, it's my experience that laughs are cheap, and trying to ignore a weighty situation is the wrong way to go about it all. People need to use the atrocities to better themselves, instead of drowning them out or letting them depress everyone. But the point of it as far as this thread is concerned is that Amgroma wasn't trying to be distasteful, and only a couple of the thread's participants showed signs of taking offense to it. So don't be too harsh about what he should or shouldn't have done.
