I've always figured that the main reason was for everyone to build what they can idealize and mainly... show it off. Structures and towns, hand made scenery, etc.. Not all winners obviously but its nice to be able to see and help build other structures in game. So I say mainly, building... secondary, socialism.

I come to build and enjoy myself. I never planned to run a town, but that happened and added an extra dimension to why I play.

Shutting the hell up.
I'll admit, most of my activity is spent gathering and building. Being around people who not only build awesome structures as well as enjoy my own creations is definitely a strong point.

However, with the "Hardcore" title, I actually had the impression (before I joined) that the game was set to "Hard" difficulty. You know, Mobs being more difficult to fight and could kick your ass even with the lag.

Sure, people like to PVP...but when you advertise that one should be afraid to wander the wilderness in the dark, I'd rather be more scared of mobs than of bandits.

*drops two cents in the jar*

Well, PVE consists of not letting yourself get eaten while AFK in the woods. With the low mob count and lag there isn't much to be afraid of.

PVP is much more engaging, but I'm still waiting for some organized town-vs-town system to really get me pumped for mass slaughter.

The people who play on this server are cool, the policy of zero-tolerance for douchebags is probably the most important thing the staff does for us.

Good to know Capn_Danger. We may be instituting a flagging system for MAIN server (auto set to default on) and a NO FLAG FFA system on WARZONE MAP

the hardcorness!!

i'm tired of servers who give you everything by a command, i want to have to dig 1000 stone to find one gold, i want to keep lot of expensive thing, that i'll never use, but i have them, and others people don't, i want to fight for my life, to fight for making epic build, and, i want to win over this hardcoreness, by building a base that don't allow monsters to kill me, making a little paradize in the center of HELL, and go out this paradize to kill people, to steal people, making their paradize a living hell!

with great anti-grief rules, i love rules, i'm lost without rules, i want to follow strong rules

also the hardcoreness, I fished around for a good server, stumbling upon HC, on my 2nd day mentioning theft and not knowing how powerful kain is and such... yeaahh, good times.

I like the fact that we all bicker, but are always friends, like a big family! All hostilitys go away when we reset and I never get perma-banned (even though i get really annoying sometimes) yaaah...

[Kain]: for that, banned. :p

I joined mainly for exploration and building. And the hardcore kinda comes in with mobs when there is no lag, I noticed that on the test server yesterday, there was this creeper and he was FAST! Just kept following this guy for a long time. And I had my own run-ins with them, if they get close to you without you notice it, they are damn hard to get away from.
Notch has more mobs on the scetch board, so hopefully we can keep the 'hardcore' without it be 'hardcore pvp'.

The mobs are pretty hard at night right now, there like about 50 per block all struggling to eat you and can move faster than I can half the time. Only safe way to travel is in a hole. Although we need a way to disable mobs in city so the spawns aren't wasted there.
