It has been a while but I did find an abandoned mineshaft while mining in a public realm. In the mineshaft there where rails, I took them with the intention of making a railway to and from my mine. Unfortunately they belonged to someone else so I was banned.

Okay then. I don't see this as a major issue as this was awhile ago and for an unproved incident.
Just to make it clear griefing is not allowed in the whitelist world. Read the rules and ask about things you aren't sure of before you do them.
