Just a notice to many of the working people playing/ voting for Herocraft, i was just blacklisted by minestatus, i asked why
here is the reply from minestatus:

"We have started to blacklist 3G networks as they are constantly used to inflate votes on servers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Kramer Campbell
Vex Software LLC"

so sorry Kainzo and fellow hero's looks like they are cutting all players off that us aircard, phones etc. even though we have not abused the system on HC, they are covering they butts.

Some additional information i received,
This is quoted direct from emails to me

"A vast majority (over 75%) of vote cheating comes from 3G networks. We already have a huge workload managing four thousand servers. It's best if we just leave 3G networks banned. Sorry for the inconvenience, just ask your players to vote.

Sincerely,
Blake Beaupain
Vex Software LLC"

How did they cheat with 3G networks? I tried voting on a 3G network more than once and it didn't work. xD

Well, if they have blocked 3G networks from voting I don't believe knowing how they cheated hurts anything.

When you vote for Herocraft on Minestatus, the website will first check first to see if it has already received a vote from your IP address today, and if it hasn't, it will accept the vote and log your IP address. Otherwise (if your IP address matches one that's already voted today), it will reject the vote and tell you to wait until tomorrow before you can vote again. Minestatus enforces its one-a-day voting policy in this manner.

3G networks have a large block of IP address that they hand out to the phones that connect to them, so the phones can use the network to access the internet. The problem is that it is a trivial process to release the IP that your phone has been given, and the odds are that when you're given a new address (which is straightaway), it'll be a different one, and you can vote on Minestatus again without them knowing you're the same person. To prevent this behaviour, Minestatus has blocked all IP addresses on the 3G network.
