I can't pick my favorite yet - so I'll just pop out my top 3. They're all really amazing! Better than I could do, that's for sure

totally voted 3 (not only because you can see me killing the cameraman at the end)

the first is nice, but really i really feel laggy when i watch it, probably bad if people thinks our server lag
the second is fine, but there are all those pixel in the video, the quality is kinda bad
the fourth is really cool, but the music make me sleep, not really make me wanna join
the fifth is good with all the explore/cooperate stuff, but where is the hardcoreness? the pvp?
and the sixth is awesome, really, but the 3d splash text look really weird for minecraft, too high quality for mc

so, i voted 3, cause it's, for me, the best of the videos here for representing Herocraft

I was having a hard time picking between 1 and 3. I think #1 would be the clear winner, it's got everything; the author didn't waste a shot, the editing is excellent, and he does a great job communicating exactly what is awesome about HC. The only downside is that the video is a bit choppy, if the framerate on his video capture could be improved it would be perfect.

So, I almost voted for #3 because the video quality was better, but #1 was the only video that really sold the features of Herocraft, so DING.

Kain, I must rescind my vote and instead write-in Amgroma. This is the video that I believe truly represents our fine server! It IS in 1080p, after all.

I gotta say although there are some here that stand out above the rest; all the submissions are really awesome.

Alrighty, I placed my vote. While each video had its strengths and weaknesses, one did stand out among the rest.

Something I'd like to mention to most of the video creators: fades can be overused. I know there is a temptation to time them to every significant change in the music, but if you don't give the eye at least 3 solid non-fade seconds, the image is too quickly lost. Best to find your rhythm and fade after a significant point on a beat, rather than fading on every beat. Two of these videos faded so much and so often, it was like reverse-epilepsy.

Also, another thing, don't use texture packs when making videos. You should always do a MC video in default textures, as this is what the majority of your audience will be seeing. Additionally, if you want your video to possibly be used by Mojang to advertise the server, they must use default texture packs.

Lastly, I advise against showing stuff everyone knows already exists, such as mining, or unimproved landscape. That in no way sets the HC server apart from others. Best to keep it on the most stunning works of architecture, etc.

Overall though, some great submissions. We've got a lot of talent on HC. It's a pity we can't do like "Best raw footage," "Best editing," "Best post-production effects," etc, and then get a 3-person team together to make the new video. I'd have really liked to match the individual strengths of each video.

Also, I assume after the winner has been chosen, that the address to the server and web page will be posted in the video??

I agree with all the advice Libra gave, especially about the fade effects.

I would love to see a collaboration on a Herocraft video, putting together all the talent here could result in a mind-blowing trailer.

1 has the best information but needs to be cleaned up a lot to be good enough to really use as a promo. It seems dark in areas, the font/styling on the font looks really choppy on my screen (1080p).

Honestly, the best would be a combination of 1 and 5, but as is, 5 should be used.
