I am not a proponent of camping and yet I agree that the enemy town sitting outside the walls is a siege. The best solution for the defending town is this: build a GY within your town regions to eliminate the run back.
I also agree that as it currently stands the defenders are favored way too much. The turret alone was sufficient. Adding the DoT on top of that? Excessive.
However this test is a small sample of the live server. ON the live server their will be more than 2 towns and a larger map thus expanding the possibilities of play and sieges over a larger area. THIS feels excessive due to the small sample size of the environment and the large portion of PVP wolves starving for fresh meat in a small environment. As such they devour what little there is and howl for more when the prey has had enough and said fuck it I'm done. PvPers need to learn moderation.

If you want more fun PVP take the people out who need to learn how and teach them, in a friendly manner. Then when that person is sufficiently strong enough to fight back leave them and attack. If al the PVPers hang out in one large group of course there is no one to fight. Anyone who wants to fight is already on your side. You have a monopoly on PVP, like comcast or time warner. THERe is no completion and you starve for a good fight by making the fight not fun for anyone else but yourselves. I want fun PVP but complaining about no one to fight when all you do is sit around and fight people who don't have a chance of beating you is only fun for the person winning

I understand the reasoning behind the 300 damage per shot turrets but they are too OP. They are especially OP if the dispenser gets LWCd, you will not be able to empty the turret. If the turret focuses a squishy target the target will die in three hits. I suggest either reducing the damage to 200, and remove the ability to LWC the dispenser. Or change the damage to % health so it is just as effective against squishy targets as it is against tanky targets and remove the ability to LWC the dispenser

The No-PvP areas. There are too many of them. Your town should not have 10+ different places people can escape to, to become safe. Look at what all the townspeople do in movies when they are under siege (not the best reference but I did not want to reference something historical because I may have been wrong), they all run together in one place. It could be the church, town hall or whatever. I think we should also apply this to this system. I think it would be better if there was one larger No-PvP region instead of 10 or more smaller ones.

On the topic of LWCing the arrow turret? This is garbage and should not in any way be allowed, the same goes for the region chests required for reagents in any of the structures. That defeats the whole purpose as I understood it. Hell when this goes live eliminate LWCs entirely IMO. (Ducking incoming Flames)

I also agree that there are too many non PVP areas.... The town hall, hospital and a church should suffice for non PVP zones. But this is all just my opinion.

I'd also like to point out that this event is pretty much a pve vs pvp battle, and these over-powered defenses exist because, the pvp players are better at pvp then the pve players. (Shocker right) When this goes live on the pvp server the people who are left with these obscene defenses are they very people who are arguing against them. Most of the people in Amoria at this time have not played on the PVP server and I doubt they will even with the introduction of the plugin, I can't see why you would have arrow turrents and DOTS on a pve server, and the PVP community has obviously shown their negative backlash towards them.

We get it, these defenses are good for a town of pvers defending against pvpers, but these defenses will kill town pvp on the pvp server where pvpers vs pvpers. (I would never raid a town of people reasonably equal in skill purely alone against the 25% damage boost, arrow turrets, pointless DOTS would outright kill town pvp on the real server)

Agreed, I say no defenses is the way to go. On PvP, your town mates should be the only defense you need.

I bout these raids occur daily on the pvp server with the amount of people playing....

And I used to play on the pvp server, not much lately, but these raids are the exact reason why most towns either have huge walls or are huge buildings.

I would also agree to remove the pvp free zone and disable wizards and runeblades opening protected doors with telekinesis.

Minecraft and I think Herocraft in general is about soo much more than pvp. If you want to just pvp I can think of a few fantasy/medieval arena fighters.

Siege facilitates a nice way of forcing your enemy to come out of their town and face you something people have been complaining about since the server started but I see you keep clinging to the old days and towns will again become just 60 block high walls or "boxes",
doors should stay how they are now and not change meaning EVERYONE can open them without a skill and now it protects inside buildings like the town hall? that's too much protection
