Township MOTD's

@xexorian - again we wont be using the chat command to alter town settings.

so would it simply be like this?

/town motd command

such as;
/t motd (view motd privately)
/t motd set message (to set a new message)
/t motd clear (to clear the motd)
/t motd ping (to broadcast the motd)

or

/tmotd
/tmotd set msg OR /tmotd s msg
/tmotd clear OR /tmotd c
/tmotd ping OR /tmotd p

probably the first section. but I don't intend to add a clear/ping command. ping is too much of a troll command, people can check the motd and we'll provide ways to have it display on a timed basis or on login, clear can be integrated into the set command.

would it not be easier to have it owner-only so only the mayor would be responsible? besides, having it where you can only use it once per hour or something.

I just think the usefulness of being able to ping it is justice enough to have it implemented. If it's spammable and someone doesn't like it, then they can just leave the town. It's on the mayor afterall.

and using "/t motd set " (with 2 spaces) would be the same thing as a /town motd clear, would it not?

my point being;

some would view it as it's asking too much to have to have another bind setup just to view motd after you've logged in and its been spammed above what's viewable.

and others might not even see it if o chat is being viewed or spammed so manually typing it such as /t motd could be considered asking too much from people to remember.

it's just easier if I can use it once in awhile (in my eyes) when a lot of people are already on to make sure it's message is read/seen.

Also, there's more functionality to pinging it once in awhile, such as not having to retype the entire MOTD when someone logs in and I need to tell them something important. (I know it's seen ONCE when you login, thus MOTD) but a ping function could still prove useful.
