  • Would be highly efficient at conveying messages in-game to citizens that only play once or twice a week.
  • Is quite useful in most other regards, and I think would be easy to code in.
  • Could be using the format (and functionality);
/townchat -set motd message
/townchat -clear motd
/townchat -ping motd
/townchat -motd
Shortened:
/tc -s motd msg /tc -s msg
/tc -c motd OR /tc -c
/tc -p motd OR /tc -p
/tc -motd
These would

/tc help
[server]: format - usage
[server]: /tc msg (broadcasts a message to only citizens of your town.)
[server]: /tc -s msg (set the message of the day for the town when you login.)
[server]: /tc -c (clears the message of the day for the town.)
[server]: /tc -p (pings the message of the day for the town to all citizens.)
[server]: /tc -motd (sends you the message of the day for the town privately.)

Thoughts?
Yours,

I guess its ok but dont most towns have a notice board of some sort
You Can fit much more on a board than in
a motd

yes but a message board each citizen needs to run over and look at to see. a motd would allow every citizen to see the most important message that would be on that board the second they log into the game.

I like this a lot.

That involves members reading it. This would come on screen no matter what.

it'd be set throguh the /town command when we do it. I have stuff like this planned for communication purposes just been focusing on regioning at the moment. /tc is designed as a chat channel so I don't think I'll be adding sub-commands on it as it makes parsing them a bit more difficult.

thus the minus symbol followed by a letter immediately after /tc

indicates a command rather than plain text

/tc -c

also, can we later have persistent chat functionality when using /tc or /ch tc (cross over to heroes chat?)

and I've been thinking it'd be cool if we could rename our HTTP ranks such as owner, member, etc. and add our own ranks based off of default ranks, purely for naming purposes. (IE: member-type rank, but named differently) so towns can have their own -customized- internal ranking systems.

Sub regions are 100% priority on HTTP - this will come in when time permits! thanks for the suggestion!
You should do that soon, Newerth keeps getting raided by old and trusted members and we can't do shit about it. :/
