town regions

ok i just wanted to know a little about town regions, now i know that their are circualr and square regions, but are there any other shapes such as an oval?

It is this preconception that leads to all towns making circular walls. As for right now the region is a square.

The ring might be circular but the region is square.

Kain has told me once the region plugin comes out regions will only be under the ring, meaning it is a circle.

This is going to leave many cities unprotected

The ring marks where the towns protection ends. When we lost the old method of regions and this one came in, circles became impossible. So the region has been temp square until it could be fixed but the circular ring marks the town, not the region. The extra space outside the ring is a mistake and will be fixed eventually.

At least this has been my understanding of it since the old regions method was stopped.

Regions atm are a square shape. I don't see how you can really remove that now that a bunch of cities have started building square areas within their regions, it would screw them up quite a bit, but we'll see haha

Your region depends on your city size. At the moment, if you're a town, you recieve a 150x150 Square Region, or in the case of a City a 180x180 Square, etc. Only you and the people that you have assigned to your regions may edit blocks in that region, and you get a small no-pvp area in your Town Hall, which is a seperate region meaning people who can edit the main region don't have to be able to edit the Town Hall one, it's the choice of the Region Owner (Who is usually the town mayor).

Another interesting note is that creeper explosions cannot damage your region's blocks (Although they'll still hurt you.)
