Does it only remove 1 block of lava?

Plus, how do i refill the bucket? lol
put the water on the ceiling above the lava and it will spread and turn it all to obsidian. Once you're done just pick the water source back up

*Sigh* Why do people believe there are better layers than others to find ore? It is not in the minecraft code for layer 9 to have more gold than layer 12 etc... If you want to find gold its anywhere under 32 (I believe). Diamond is like 12 under. Iron is everywhere and Coal... self explanatory.

I wish/hope jeb expands the map downward. Level -255 anyone? (if it's not possible to expand downward, make map generation start higher.)

Also, I had no problems with ores.

That's awesome. So I just place the water on a ceiling block? (weird physics)

Also, is the obsidian worth anything?

Yes, put water on a ceiling block and it will spread on top of all the top level lava.

yea, if the lava is streaming it will turn into cobble, anything else is obby :) then you can get to work cutting through it with a diamond pick and getting 10 exp per obby :)

I've just started mining and everywhere I go leads to someones tunnel. Most of the world is tapped and it's so annoying. I've been to a lot of places around the map and most of them are tapped.

It really sucks!

Any advice? Will there be a ore refresh or something at some point?
Everyone will tell you to go further out, but my advice is to go further in towards spawn. Only a handful of people risk mining near any 0 coordinate. I've found far more near the roads than I have anywhere else on the map.

Oh really? I've been mining around the 3000s so I might have to move then.

Also, do you know if you get less exp per block if you use different pickaxes?

I was getting 15 exp from redstone, but then i dinged 30 and specialised and now it's reduced. (I also switched to a diamond pick at the same time so I'm not sure what the issue is)

Once you spec into your profession you receive about half experience than what you'd get as a crafter.

I still mine in the old area of the map... There is so much gold its not even funny. Use the branch mining technique. Yea you will run into other peoples tunnels but you'll be surprised how much gold other peoples tunnels miss.

Awww that sucks! It's going to take double the time to reach 30 again :(

Orange it isn't necessarily in the code to specifically make sure of it but people have done chunk analysis across multiple different seeds and found that some ores spawn less frequently at lower depths.

I can't remember where I saw the article but ye :p

Passed 3000 x or y works. They don't have to both be 3000

Shadow care to re-think what you just said? :p

Basically what you do is dig a super long tunnel 2x1 or 3x1 whichever you perfer. Then you go back along the walls and every 2 or 3 blocks dig into the wall like 4-5 blocks deep an again 2x1 or 3x1 hole and collect all the ores you find. This is branch mining.
