So this is my intro to my section of lore. It will focus on the Northern hemisphere of Zeal, and a little bit of the south. For now this is my lore, but I'll probably move onto other topics, I'm just using this as a spring board for my ideas. It's also really short compared to what I hope to write, soon though I think I'll be able to change my style to a good mix of fiction so as to allow me to write more than what I can now.

The war is always told from the side of the victor, right?

Prologue: The Pilgrimage
Many years ago, a great pilgrimage took place. People from the world of Sanctum migrated, over many hundreds of miles, to the magically corrupt land of Zeal. Many left everything behind, houses, family, friends, to explore this new land sprouting with magic. After many years of walking, the pilgrims stumbled upon an ancient, abandoned city. This was the city of Zeal, the conduit of magic through out there new world. As they entered Zeal, they felt a growing sensation across their bodies. Warmth flooded their limbs, weak and cold from travel, and tingling radiated from within their minds. The magic cast off by the ancient city grew immensely as they approached it's center, a great gem of fluid, concentrated, magic. Many would succumb to this great presence, simply dropping to their knees, their pulse slowing and their eyes glazing over. The many that did not fall, moved closer and closer to the center. The city was soon overflowing with pilgrims, the bodies of the fallen being shoved aside as more and more pushed to get closer. Suddenly, a burst of magic flooded the entire city, leaving ever living soul in the city all but conscience. Unknowing to them, their deepest thoughts were being probed by the ancient spirits, granting them knowledge and skills unique to their inner most dreams and wishes. This was the death of the pilgrims. But it was only the birth of the heroes.

Chapter One: The beginning
The end of the age of pilgrims summoned with it, along with hundreds of dead, the birth of the heroes; a new species bred for a single task, assigned to their class. The first of the awaken stumbled out of zeal, still in a stupor from the blast of magical energy that invaded their minds in their unconsciousness. Slowly, others started to rise, and those who did not, who's pulse had stopped and left their body cold and wet to the touch, slowly began to disintegrate, their strength becoming a part of the magical gem in the center. Many set out to join those they had seen in their old home, in the old kingdom of Sanctum.

As groups of the new born heroes clustered, towns began to form. Firstly starting out as small huts and large caves, the heroes reborn as crafters quickly learned their talents with diamond tools, but inability to wield a sword. Warriors learned that they could no longer hold diamond pick axes, but had become skilled with swords and heavy armor, something they previously had not been able to use. These new found skills, along with the groups of people moving together, started what would become The North.

Chapter Two: The towns
It didn't take long for towns to sprout up. At first, they were unofficial, lacking a proper system of ruling, but still collections of humans in a single place. At first, there were towns like Tempest, but soon there would be more. As the time carried on, more and more towns sprouted from the ground, seemingly over night. Rome was built in a day, and Atlantis discovered in one of the North oceans.

The towns that started to grow in the North, had counterparts in the South were growing just as fast, though some were becoming discontent with their position. The town of New Hope was abandoned in a search for a better location, moving to the North early on, abandoning it's location near the empires of NEO and KRS.

Not long after the town of Orion was formed, taking the place of New Hope, other towns appeared, such as Killuminati and Typhon. The proximity of all these towns ignited what became the Great War of the North.

Chapter Three: The quiet before the storm
It wasn't long before Orion's presence in the north was not readily welcome. Occasional raids conducted by Orion on other towns in the past had created a thick, tense atmoshpere. Orion was not known in the past for being friendly, nor a force to be reckoned with. Even more so than the town itself, was the SSS. The kingdom of the north known commonly as SSS ruled over towns such as New Dresden and Arcadia. When New Hope had left for Orion, they had become a part of SSS.

The neighboring towns had been in conflict with the kingdom of SSS for decades. A road that engineers from SSS built had offended the town of Typhon and killuminati. Both towns had decided to build onto the road made by the SSS, which was met with strong resistance. In the end, it was the road that cause the war, and nothing more. It was the road that launched a thousand ships.

Chapter Four: The War
War broke out between North Reach and SSS after tensions had escalated to a breaking point. During the time of the war, a majority of SSS forces were preoccupied in a war far outside the region of Zeal. The abilities inherited by Zeals magical properties had proven highly advantageous against the civilizations of the far north, and the empire of SSS had chosen to press their advantage and expand into the far north.

This lack of military strength gave North Reach and opportunity to strike SSS without facing the full wrath of the SSS empire. North Reach's army was focused primarily on the town of Orion, and thus some felt that the war was misnamed because of this, that calling it a war on all of SSS was an exaggeration as Orion was the primary target, and was the primary fighter of the SSS forces.

Regardless of its name, correct or not, the war was headed one way. From the very start, North Reach possessed at maximum, a tenth of what SSS collectively used in its military. Further more, Orion possessed several talented commanders and generals, as well as an alliance with arguably the most powerful empires in the south.

Severely outnumbered, and poorly experienced, North Reach remained steadfast in the war, despite a grim outlook for the future. The army of Orion welcomed the challenge, and immediately mobilized its army to engage its enemy. The war took place on the beaches around North Reach, and the hills adjacent to the North Road, fighting two fronts; one from the east, and one from the west. On the western front was Orion and its army, matched with that of North Reach's militia. Orion laid siege to the town for months on end, easily sustaining itself due to the proximity of their town. The eastern front was much more heated. The town of Typhon interrupted the course from the road to North Reach, and had to be dealt with in order to pass and assualt the western side of North Reach. Typhon fell under siege shortly after North Reach by a smaller force of Orion soldiers. In a swift blow to end Typhon, an army from Jericho aligned with Orion to crush any opposition in the town. The gates were broken down, and the entire city burned, slaughtering thousands in order to clear a path to western front of North Reach. With the resistance in Typhon crushed, it was a few days march to the western side of North Reach, who's militia was already decimated by the siege, and who's citizens were starving in the streets. The arrival of the western army signaled defeat from North Reach, who had rather face surrender than total annihilation like those in Typhon. Today, several valiant heroes can be recognized from the war; Triton, Dante, Ench, Thames, Merik, and Atlas.

Define Rumptroll: A troll most commonly found in the region defined as the 'ass.' Rumptrolls are very rare, and often dangerous. They are easily angered, and very narcissistic. When they aren't busy trolling the asses of bystanders, they partake in clubbing baby seals.

One thing you may want to note later is that is seems that the SSS is in tatters. Good story though, well told.
