The Disease Skill

This is one of those skills that speaks for it's self. You know other games have it, and they all have different effects. What do YOU think the Disease skill should do IF it is in fact considered?

Idea's so far:
- HP loss over time
- Screen blurring or obscuring. (maybe a color added to that such as a green tint)

Also which class should have it?

One think that would be awsome is if Kainzo suddenly put disease on someone random, then if that person punches someone the punches person gets "infected" so the disease will spread!

IMO the idea of a 'plague' crossing HC would be an interesting one. There are a billion ways that you could edit this sort of thing to make it both fun and feared for those who aren't already infected, while those who are infected may either want to cure themselves or pass on the infection. This wouldn't be a skill, as such, it'd just be something that you possess that enhances/diminishes your skills and character. I understand this may mean that you have to recode an 'infected' version of each class, but it would be great. Some ideas;

-Vampirism (Yes, cliche. Sun Damage + Increased damage with all weapons would be quite interesting. Some townships might even want them.)
-Worsens over time (HP Limit decreases, Mana Limit decreases, over time decreases further to a minimum of 5 for each)
-Stunted (HP and Mana cannot be regenerated without death)
-Removal of Skills [Becomes a LostSoul temporarily]

One other idea I had was for those who were infected to only be able to gain a temporary cure to their ineffectiveness is to kill [infect] a non-infected user, which would cleanse them of their disease for 24 hours, upon which the effects would return and they'd have to kill again. If the disease worsened over time, this would be even better, but it would be a great motivation for users to kill non-infected. The infection could even end up strengthening the user (Oblivion, anyone) while robbing them of their skills or defensive abilities, plus other effects like sun damage, blurred screen tinge, small side effects and other what not.

Overall, this. would. be. epic.

@Richfish, I was playing wow when that was going on. dear god was that funny. And the zombie invasion of 08 where we got to play ghostbusters and go around killing everything in capital cities.

Ahh the good old days.:(

^ keep in mind that people have varying HP. 1.5 hearts is a lot more for some than others.

Not that good an idea. A similar thing was done in the past in another game. It's since been used for real-world research xD

But this is minecraft, not wow(nothing against wow). And i think if it would be to much and to annoying kainzo could probably fix it pretty fast. And these are just suggestions. Im sure kainzo and coders could make something even better out of this.

So many HP of damage every X amount of time, removed by sleeping it off or the Antitode skill. Although, I think keeping it as a more general "Poison" like Kainzo named it would be better, and keeping Disease or Plague as an event-specific thing would be more fun. When you just call it poison it applies to (at least slightly) different situations, anyways. Poison has the possibility of being manufactured, so it falls more to things like Ranger, Ninja, perhaps Alchemist, and a Healer or two.

Now, a sort of undead plague with different effects depending on your class, that would be awesome. Vampirism for, say, Rogues, Attack/Defense boost at the cost of mana regen and healing from food and beds for Warriors, maybe some kind of magical burnout or backfire for Casters and un-healing for Healers. Crafters? No clue. And everyone has a chance of getting temporarily Lost Soul'd. But hey, I could more than live with that sort of thing.

If there was to be a "plague" in Herocraft it would be pretty cool. Then I suggest the disease to reduce your health slowly untill you have 20% of your total(max) left. It could be so that if you punch an other person with just hands the other person would get sick. And if you infected 3 people, you got healthy. That way the disease would spread. Then after a week or so a cure could be offered, like eat mushroom soup or something.
