Not a Bug The Cape

When I logged on today and pressed F5, I suddenly noticed a cape on my hero's back which has strange cereal looking textures.
Everyone else has this apparently too.

My question is: client side or server side addition?
I'm pretty sure it's server side, wanted to question it anyway.

Is it possible to remove this? I'm sure you were expecting someone to complain already @Kainzo , but sorry ....

Not sure about thus but I had a theory it was for the scrolls celebration. It said it in the launcher and everyone around every server I went to had the cape as well as me.

You can log into your account on Mojang's website and disable your cape, but that will only affect you, not everyone else. Going to have to wait it out.
