As for Airbus's concerns, I have this to say:
1. Though initially The Bazaar was just intended as a treat for my three year old son (as his favorite building is the Hagia Sophia), The Chief commissioned me to make a Bazaar out of it for DH Kingdom for either the current or the new map (depending on circumstanaces only in his control). Thus, the Bazaar is owned by DH, not me. I am a DH Architect, and just like in the real world, an architect rarely owns the building he or she designed. So, as for it being carried over to the new map (if there is one), that is DH's decision alone. It is part of their infrastructure, not my personal castle or city.
2. It has, for months, been intended to be a replacement for the Sanctum Shops, but is absolutely NOT the sort of structure that can be slapped together in a couple of days between maps. It has taken months to get it to the point it's at now. It was constructed on the current map largely because its exact role in the new map, as well as its placement, had not yet been decided. That's why it's not being built on port 1337, and that's why it may very well be ported over, despite "a wipe is a wipe."
3. Whoever runs The Bazaar, as well as collects rent for the shops, is entirely up to The Chief. He may have staff run it, he may have me do it, or he may do it himself (though I doubt the last one, as he's juuuust slightly busy 24/7). However, this should be considered no different than a DH Banker position. Running the Bazaar will be an ENORMOUS pain in the ass, as there are 48 small pavillion shops, 8 medium shops, 4 epic shops, 4 banks, and 4 towers. All of which must be sectioned off into separate child-regions, the permissions maintained, and the rent collected, on a monthly basis, plus repairs to the inevitable damage by shop owners and customers, all the while being improved with new features not in the initial implementation (such as a rail system, murderdome, etc.) So whoever ends up with the job is going to have a shit-ton of work to do nearly every single day, and whatever initial pay they recieve will be as compensation for putting up with all that crap. It makes the job of a DH Banker look effortless by comparison, so it stands to reason that whoever does it will get a fair rate of pay for it. Personally, I'd rather just get paid for completing the Bazaar and be free to start up a new project, but again, that's Chief's decision, not mine.
4. Unlike most structures, the Bazaar is both a collaborative effort and gift to everyone. Upwards of 20+ people (I don't have the list in front of me atm) have donated hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of coins worth of materials and coins themselves. The Bazaar is bigger than any one of us. It is not a city, in that it will have no citizens. It is not a possession, in that it belongs to everyone. It is not favoritism to me. If anything, it is favoritism to all of you. It is there so that trade can more easily flow between everyone in an aesthetically pleasing environment that favors no one city over the other, without muddying up the spawn area. It is true there is rent: this is both to control the economy and to compensate those who will have to run the place. It is true some will profit on it, as is expected in an economy system with money in it. But it is equally true that everyone will be able to benefit through it as an economic center for buying or selling.
5. If there is a map and coin reset, then of course the prices will be adjusted to match the economic playing field. It's only fair: I doubt anyone could afford 2000c per month in the first few weeks or months of operation. However, having such a centrally located economic center will allow players to generate coin MUCH faster than they could in the past, provided they keep their shops updated.
I hope this allays some of your concerns. I understand where you are coming from, but I believe you may have been seeing it in a light other than what it is intended as.
Also, status report: As I type this, the Bazaar is 98% done. All I have left is to complete the interior of one more tower, and then do global cleanup on the area.
