They're already planning an expansion called Rage of Demons, who knows it might have more classes?

I am unfamiliar with 5th edition though I do remember reading that there were something like archetypes in it, paths you can choose that will alter your characters playstyle. Sooo... perhaps it won't be to bad in that case.

Will play as an eldritch knight if that path is in there for fighters!

A lot of classes have different paths, Bard has different Colleges, Paladin has different Vows, Druids have different Circles.

If you watch the twitch thing I link, it looks like they'll definitely have a decent variety of spells/skills for use.

There's no mention of persistent worlds atm, but everything else about this game looks very promising. I used to play a ton of Neverwinter Nights 1, didn't play 2 much, and I fell in love with the dnd framework coded into a game. Swordcoast Legends looks to bring a very strong campaign creation tool set to the player, but I'm doing more research in to the combat mechanics before I'm full on drooling in anticipation.

At work so I can't look into it but, if it's borderlands style where you're given the DLC later when it's done I'm ok with it. Otherwise meh, I'd rather finished than free.

They pushed back the release date. Didn't see an official yet, late 2015 now.
