Suggestions (Again)

I don't really know what this would go under, but Staff maybe?
Anyway, I've noticed on a lot of servers that some players have a hard time starting off on servers. This may or not be the case with Herocraft, but I just recently thought of something kind of cool for players like that. My idea is to make some staff members (Or something else) that could take some of their free time to help train and/or just generally help a player get started. If this would ever come into effect, I'd love to be one of these staff members :)

I just realized this is like my 5th suggestion :D

This is called the "Guide" staff position.

Well yes, I understand that, but I meant something more personal, like not just giving out info on the fly when needed. Like you could go to new players and just help them get started, by supplying them with basic tools, or even training levels with them. I just feel like this would make it somewhat easier to kick-off and grow. And before you say anything, I understand this is a Hardcore Server.

Wow! That is a grand way of putting it, but yes, that's precisely what I'm thinking! And now that you say that, you could help people level their Crafter or other Crafter specs!

Like... a sponsor? Like someone who could level me in a staff-made mine to crafter spec? That'd be nice.

I think a starting town, as in somewhere to live and not die 24/7 would be much greater than having people beg over a position like this.

Or people can just manage to type an application for a town, and spend some time killing mobs and mining. We all did.

Edit: I actually didn't join a town at first, I solo'd around until I was like, level 10 on Zeal. Then I joined Jericho. If you can't manage not to ragequit in the first day or two, you shouldn't be trying to play a game online.

I think what he meant when he suggested this was, if you want you can officially take a noob in and train them.

If someone wants to, that's cool. There's no reason to have an official noob town, or staff position other than guides. I mean, you can buy a hamlet and fill it with noobs. Again, personal choice.

i think people who have a hard time getting started on this server are the same people who fail to read up on the server before hand, they dont read the wiki at all, they dont read the TOS, they just log in and get confused to all help because they didnt do what they were supposed to.

I remember reading through the wiki (which isn't too informative), I was active on the forums, and I was still completely lost for the first month. The only way I was saved from this confusion was when Oxea took me into the SSS. I know what it is like starting this server and it is still fresh in my mind. I 100% approve of this 'apprenticeship'.

It took 5 hours or something for my whitelist application to be checked and approved. By that time I knew the rules, the class and path I planned pursuing, as well as what town and guild I wanted to join. The wiki is a wonderful resource.

I completely aggree with @Farroes . If you're clueless by the time you first log on, you're doing it wrong. There's a button on the mcf post, and this forum denoting "Wiki". Learning the basics of the server requires 15 minutes and some degree of literacy.

This is a great idea, I also approve.(Sorry for not having some fancy speech or suggestion to add to this...I just like the idea)

@Aetosion Be that as it may, some people just have a harder time understanding the wiki at some points. And besides, with someone like this helping noobs, that would prevent them from raging and getting a permaban or suspension

EDIT: There's some really great talent on HC that comes from new players. If they can't join, and get started, then there goes a big waste of talent

If someone wants to, that's cool. There's no reason to have an official noob town, or staff position other than guides. I mean, you can buy a hamlet and fill it with noobs. Again, personal choice.

Also, a hamlet full of noobs? You must be fucking with me. That is not a good idea at ALL.

Oh, I think it's a horrid idea as well, but Mellowbeatz thought otherwise. my comment was a response to his.
