What came to my mind was EVE online. It's a pretty hardcore game all in all, but well balanced enough so that you still be a total carebear, not to say there won't still be risks. In EVE the safe zones are monitored by police-esque NPC's that kill players shortly after they commit a crime. However in HC, this wouldn't work, the crime would have to be detected, the admins would have to intervene, it'd be unavoidable yadda yadda.

However, the idea that selected players; upon evidence that they have comitted a crime, could be blacklisted as outlaws, is very interesting. If marked as an outlaw, the player to kill that outlaw, or have them surrender to them via a /code type message would be rewarded. While the outlaw has to serve a sentence in prison?

In essence, outlaws have their respawn zone changed to that of a the prison cell in a regioned area, only set free when they have served their sentence ( Petty theft - 10 mins, Mass murder - 2 hours, whatever).

Haha, while typing I also imagined a jailbreak type scenario where the prisoners are set free by their friends. Or paying their bail coin to get them out straight away.

Just following on from my rambled suggestion above. We could introduce official declarations of war between cities. If both cities mutually declare war then they are outwith the law concerning each other. But if only one side agree's, they would be punished as criminals?

We're working on a better fix and a bit more protection from within the township - Please be patient. A lot of RL stuff has come up for 2/3 of the founders.

From what I can tell, a lot of this will be eliminated once the township plugin is complete/regions are fixed. Giving a town member their own region within their plot would fix this, and I believe that this is the intent.

As such, in the end, no rule should be necessary. Not that I wouldn't like to see it anyway. A blacklist works great until you find out the guy who stole from you is actually SiC in another town.

yes there is a town ship blacklist, here is the link: http//www.tiny.cc/tsbl or TownShip BlackList.
This is for Mayors, and SICs to post only and in the for mat that i laied out.
Thanks, please ready every thing on the Post be for posting.

@Aerokii Do you have proof of the SIC stealing from you? and if so ask your mayor to post it, if he will not PM me and i will see what i can do about it.
@eveyone else, if you are on the blacklist do NOT PM to get off it, i posted how to get off of it, and i will not take you off if you talk to me about it, but if you do talk to me about being blacklisted and it is not what i want to hear from you about, i will put a note on the blacklist saying you do not read be for acting.

Hope you all like the Blacklist, if you have anything that should be added, please PM me about it, do NOT post on the forum Blacklist page.

if stealing is allowed, i don't see why not from member of your own town, it just add "hardcoreness" ;)

to be honest, i even planned to empty all chest i could in shin kyoto (i was second in command) if an evil town showing the blasphemy flag and looking good enough to revive this spirit was born, so i could join them with all SK valuables
(not kidding, really planned that, sorry old mates from shin kyoto, hopefully for you, it didn't happen)

I'm pretty sure this was covered in this or another thread like it, but at the moment, staff won't get directly involved with enforcing municipal laws (such as theft), but we will reveal (to the mayor) the names of thieves in towns if the thief is a member of that same town. The mayor is then free to enforce whatever laws are in place in that town regarding theft.

Why should it be illegal to steal items from other members of your township? It is up to the player to make sure that their items are safe, just incase another player comes along and takes them.

This happens all the time with players that like to live in the wilderness. If we would make stealing illegal in townships, why not make it illegal everywhere? In both cases the player with the valuables has a chance to do something about it. For instance, they can get LWC and hide their items.

In townships it is also up to the mayor to keep their citizens items safe. Aswell as the general items. For instance I am sure a lot of townships out there have a hidden and locked town storage where they keep most of the valuables.

Finally, there is also the server town blacklist. Once you have been added to that list it is very hard to join other decent towns that also follow it.

Basically I am saying no to making stealing from your own town illegal. I don't do it, but I know it happens. Thankfully the town I am currently in are efficient and manage to catch the criminal, WITH the stolen goods, before they can leave. This has happened over 4 times and we always get our stuff back! :D
