Town Construction Rules
- Exterior walls surrounding a town and town structures:
- Walls may not exceed 30 blocks in height in most cases
- Exceptions may be made for well built and integrated designs (subject to admin approval)
- No cobble/dirt boxes
- Walls/Structures must be well designed and thought out
- Walls/Structures may not contain large amounts of lava and flowing water, as they cause block update lag
- Towns may have a roof but must conform to the following rules:
- Must not be flat (eg. no disc of glass covering the entire town)
- Must be well designed and detailed
- Make the roof look like it was meant to exist on that structure, not misplaced
- Must be integrated into the township with believable building characteristics such as:
- Columns, towers, bracing, buttresses
- This also applies to glass domes
- Townships must have proper supports if they are raised off the ground
- No floating townships except in the case of:
- Proper 'lore' and purpose eg. town of airships, 'Laputa' style
- Must not be too high from the ground
- Must look like it was meant to be flying (eg. adding propellers, air balloons)
- All towns must have a method of getting from the ground to the township
- All townships of this type are subject to approval
Can we start enforcing these? Maybe someone flying around to all the active towns and giving them a warning to fix their towns with a deadline? I think it would be for the better and it will clean up a small portion of complaints with the current township system (Maybe it's just me whining).
