Ok when i was fighting 2 healers and i was atleast 50 blocks away from them they were spamming smite on me and i couldn't get away. and i eventually got owned by 2 healers.

this is horse shit and should be nerfed. :(

Plz lower the range on smite a shit load.

*edited first line, apperently i'm mad lol*

Teamwork trumps any class. If it was just one healer you would have been fine. Hell ironee and I as a caster+healer not spec'd nearly killed jbird.

Weren't you just talking to me yesterday in teamspeak about how you don't like people bitching and crying OP when they get killed by something?

Did i ask you to comment on those post and talk about a conversation we had on teamspeak? i'm sorry no.

But smite needs to be fixed now

Chill dude. Make a constructive suggestion, not one spurred on by rage/annoyance. So you are saying that smite has a 50 block range? Is that an exaggeration or was it literally 50 blocks?

@Awhitespot1 If you read the second half of my post, you'll notice I brought up an example when ironee and I, while unspec'd nearly took out a dragoon.

Like Kalkyte said, you are probably exaggerating. Smite only has a range of 10 blocks, that's about double the distance you can mine a block with your pickaxe. Also like Healu said it does 10 damage with an 8 second cooldown. I'm assuming you are a master paladin, so you should have 133.2 hp.

133.2 hp / 20dmg = 6.66 double uses of smite to take you down. So they need to double team you with smite seven times.

8 second CD * 7 uses = 56 seconds it would take to kill you.

The paladin's purpose is to tank and not kill, since you only do 6 hp damage with your sword you could try to drop one of the healers

A master healer has 71 HP

71 hp max \ 6 hp damage from paladin's melee(without using any skills or enchantments) = 11.8 = 12 melee hits to drop a master healer.

Most people who master their paths spec right away, so you are probalby dealing with an underleveled healer, or a spec using smite.

Master healer specs have HPs of, and total paladin melee hits to drop of:

Bloodmage - 124 hp max / 6 dmg = 20 hits
Druid - 91.2 hp max / 6 dmg = 15 hits
Cleric - 97 hp max / 6 dmg = 16 hits
Disciple - 102 hp max / 6 dmg = 17 hits

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you could take out one of those healers doing smite to you (or tank damage like you are supposed to and have a party member who isn't a tank kill them in just a few hits, since you do so little) it would take a single healer this much to drop you:
133.2 hp / 10dmg = 14 smites to drop a paladin
14 smites * 8 second cooldown = 112 seconds
As you can see, it's not that smite is op, you just weren't prepared.
I made a good point... healers shouldn't be able to murder people from 50 blocks away with smite. I already made a good point and most of you think you can proove my point but you cant.
Did you even read my post?
Are you going against me because i killed you in pvp?
Most of you don't pvp absolutley at all. My comments are coming from a true pvpers prospective. Smite is way to unfair
if it would help atleast take it off disciples, sicne your all against me on this.
Dude I am a healer it defenintly only goes like 10 blocks.
Yeah i've watched ironee use it too. Sometimes it doesn't even go 10 and you get "invalid target!" errors when you are trying to use it from as far away as possible.
This has nothing to do with you killing me in PVP. I gave you a valid point on how LONG it takes two healers to kill you, and how long it should take you to kill them while not considering you using your skills.
If you aren't going to listen to constructive criticism on your claim, why even post about it??
One thing that happened to me today is that I was fighting a healer and i was trying to use garrote on him. Garrote has a very short range and smite has quite a far range. I couldnt hit him with my sword because he would hit me with smite out of range and i couldnt get close to him to use garrote.
I'm a Disciple. level 54. My smite does 14 and has a 4 second cool down. at 50 smite takes 15 mana. In my opinion Smite is op as fuck.
Now this I can agree with. However I think garrote should just have a range increase, instead of nerfing Smite. Ninja's are a melee class that has a bunch of cool skills, so the ranged ones like garrote should be ranged like smite is. I think most ranged, instant damage+effect skills should have the same range as smite, 10 blocks, like Harmtouch, Layhands, Pray, and others. Make it a standard.
I must have overlooked that. That does sound OP as fuck. It's the only healer spec that does more than 10 damage with smite.
So if you are a master paladin, 133.2 hp / 14 damage per smite = 10 smites to drop a master paladin.
Fortunately, the cooldown is 7 seconds, which is only 1 second faster than normal healer.
That means that 10 smites * 7 seconds between = 70 seconds for a disciple to kill a paladin with just smite.
however, it takes 20 mana. So unless they have someone using battery on them, they will run out of mana before they kill you. Then they will be out of options. however with raw fish or sticks, they do the same melee damage as you do.
So smite is strangely op on disciples, but otherwise, I really don't think they are that op. I've killed plenty of healers as a necromancer.
I can confirm that its not 7 seconds. The cool down is 4 seconds. I'll make a fraps later of it. I'm not gonna lie. I love it but its way to much. Also Every 10 levels for some reason the mana cost went down by 1 so at 50 its 15 mp.
:confused: the wiki needs updating then.
I don't think the other healer classes, which have 10 dmg smites have that short cooldown.
@Kainzo are Disciples supposed to have a Smite that is that good? They are the only ones.
