Slaying?

Ok, Is their a difference between Slaying and "killed by a blow with your stone sword"
So, I was killing some sheep and it usually shows up "The sheep was killed by a blow with your stone sword" and I gain xp. But one time, It said "You slayed a sheep" or something like that and I got coins and xp. So, whats the difference?? How do I slay them so I can earn more coins

You'll always get xp for killing mobs, that's slaying. There's a chance that it'll drop coin sometimes, too. That's just luck.
