For those who use the Millenaire mod pack in single player mode, I have thrown together a texture pack for all of the villagers:

...no, I wasn't satisfied with the skins that were provided in the mod. Seems that at least 25 people weren't either, for that's how many downloads this pack got after the first hour. o.o

eisbaerBorealis: I'm afraid not. Attempting transparency on a Minecraft skin only turns the transparent area black. So if you tried to wear a creeper skin, you'd be a creeper with extra black limbs.
