I am very glad you necro'd this thread. I recently started binging on Prog metal and Djent mostly because I'm a huge Doom fan and the new soundtrack was all industrial and Djent.

Some choice Prog metal and Djent:

The Bad Thing by Periphery https://open.spotify.com/track/1Cgdee8GN7Py7nx3r5NBEu

DNA by Being https://open.spotify.com/track/3jPHrAbndxQjgsy248uJba

Nemesis by Anup Sastry https://open.spotify.com/track/0qguFw2TYGqwEf3mXoE482

Bleed by Meshuggah (they coined Djent as a genre)
https://open.spotify.com/track/5p2sCetlJ6D0KiBljKwmLb

Some more Periphery because it's amazing

Bonus: Air Atlantic by Being feat the singer from Periphery Spencer Sotelo

Oh man, I'm glad you brought up prog. Definitely my favourite sub-genre. I also heard a lot of technical in there :)
While I'm not too much of a fan of djent-djent, I liked everything but Periphery.

Ne Obliviscaris, my all time favourite band. Long and intense pieces, built up and bridged by beatiful instrumental, vocals and violin play.

Be'Lakor, amazing prog band from australia.
https://open.spotify.com/track/3mcsGaqAxV2T8phQMT8Nlw

One of my favourite Opeth songs, real classic.
https://open.spotify.com/track/0ppdt8zRZOHIKh4ZDB0Zp9

Enslaved, prog/black.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1Vqw8DyNJsocCtU3o1GBbW

Ihsahn, prog, solo project that reminds me of Opeth.
https://open.spotify.com/track/0Khu3lwmM3NBw7Xkk5YF4n

Witherscape, prog melodeath/techical with some intriguing rock-like bridges.
https://open.spotify.com/track/5HhAAHWPShObNr7T8cLboL

In Vain, prog.
https://open.spotify.com/track/4fmDK6EQb1CfrOSZki0W2W

Fleshgod Apocalypse, technical/symphonical death. Fairly baroque inspired.
https://open.spotify.com/track/63fLWnxo6JAZIBbhc9jYSW

Son of Aurelius, excellent technical death. One of their T-shirts is pure insanity, and I walk around in it.
https://open.spotify.com/track/6jJAcmI08kKvAr1mZIwdWQ

Fallujah, from their newest album. Technical death.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1XKsXJNLWiOsd45j0PZMgD

The Fall of Every Season, some of the most beautiful doom I've heard. Norwegian solo project.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1tEn9ati47vDCZKLAdtGIS

Draconian, doom/symphonical death combining female vocals and male growling. Slightly gothic.
https://open.spotify.com/track/0FD8OSyA4SrTNwsF0eMyoa

Dream Theater, the proggest of them all.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1ZR4QAYsiO9zPsGaMPW2OI

Destrage, mathcore. Think technical and breakdowns.
https://open.spotify.com/track/7eybuzgqCGdhwBQsyPMloO

OH FUCK, almost forgot to mention last years FOTY release - Wilderun's Sleep at the Edge of the World:

Embedding doesn't seem to function correctly atm, give us the physical link :)
I gave the physical link, it embeds automatically on iPhone and you can only view it on iPhone... It's annoying. Give me a sec...

Alright, I give you...
GERMAN DEATH REGGAE (although I can't understand the words, so I can't say for certain if it is actually in German)

EDIT: Alright, auto-embedded again... one more sec

And just FYI, I think that it sounds terrible, like totally god awful. I'm more of a jazz/funk/soul/rock kinda guy. I just think that it is funny that German Death Reggae is a thing.
