For those of you who didn't notice, you should have gold blocks in your inventory when you go to trade. The blocks are 50 c a piece and that is how you trade coin.

You do not actually trade the gold, they are just there as a placeholder so you can trade coin.

The gold being used as money in trade are placeholder items. Click a gold nugget while in trade and you'll add 1c to your part of the trade, click the ingot to add 10c to the trade and click the block to add 50c to the trade. You don't use actual gold.
