I don't think anyone will argue this but 99% of the time a restart fixes lag. Today I had to wait 30 seconds for my lift to work and even longer just to place a few bricks. Mining was horrific and our towns gates were 5 minute waiting rooms. Is there any way we can set the server to automatically restart every 3 hours or so ?

It doesn't 'fix' the lag. It just subsides it for a few minutes - we're pin pointing the cause and it is the onChunkloads and saves - trying to find a happy solution - it isnt easy. We will restart when necessary and when we have something to test to fix it.

Until then, twit notch and ask for multi-thread support
