I have just recently found out that if you recall in combat, this is legal. However if you combat log, this is illegal. Am I the only one who sees this to be anything but backwards? If you combat log, you at least stay right where you left, your not going who the hell knows how far away. However if you recall, well your gone, there's hardly a chance of the attacker to find you again shortly after. So after finding this out, I am wanting to see everyone's opinion on this subject.

I agree it can be used as a life saver, however think about it from a unbiased point. Why should someone who isn't leaving the spot they logged get punished over the person who is a map distance away? It could take the same amount of time to find the person that recalled as waiting on the person who logged out in combat.

Recall also has a cooldown and requires full mana to use. As a crafter with no pvp ability at all, my only hope when attacked really is to be able to recall. If it's a mob or a player, doesn't matter. I get hit and it's time to recall or die.

If people are fighting, and want to fight, then recalling when you start to lose means you suck. If someone recalls right away or when they are found or after they loot something good from a fallen combatant then it is OK. If they just stole something awesome in town/secret base and recall when found it is OK.

Pretty much recall is fine being used however someone wants to use it with me, as long as they don't during a fair fight. Although, with heroes, fights are rarely fair anymore. So recall is fine to be used whenever now.

Since it takes 100% mana to use that means they aren't sneaking, using any fighting skills, or doing much of anything but getting they're ass out of there.

EDIT:: Also what Punisher said.

Im a crafter. Im not a PvP class. Recall is a DEFENSIVE skill. Telling me to turn and fight, to go toe-toe to with any PvP class is retarded. You can go suck an egg.

Yes, Recall is good for use in combat. It's more useful than people even give it credit for...
Using it during a fight is A-OK. Initiating a fight and warping away once find out you're losing is pretty weaksauce, but fine if you can manage to have 100% mana.

I understand that this can be frustrating, but Staff cannot go through the logs every time someone recalls from combat to confirm it.
I understand, I am however not referring to how useful recall is in combat. My point is if someone logs out how is that worse then someone going a map distance away? They wont be moving an inch untill they log back in. Unlike the person who is in another town.

because it is.... recall is a spell, it costs 100% mana and 10 redstone. recall will never be illegal to be used in combat and to try to make it illegal will get you nowhere. it'd be like trying to make all skills for pvp classes illegal in combat :eek:

When someone recalls, that's the end of the battle.
When someone logs out, they usually log back in, causing them to be invincible for a short amount of time during which they attack the other player; not fair.

Its not fair Kainzo, maybe for specs like Ninja and what not, that barely use any mana, Healers and Casters are buttfucked while the rest of their party retreats, I say they lower Healers and Casters recall down to 55 or something, to make it more fair.

(Nothing is ever fair, nor balanced in an RPG)

Your logic is flawed, having a warmup balances the equation. I wouldnt ask you to understand my methods, because we still don't have all classes with mana using skills.

I know as a basic rogue I do use alot of mana in certain situations. skill /ablade uses 50% mana. And i'm not going to lie. I recall from combat all the time. If I come to your town and get some rare items, then start a fight with you, if i'm on fire or are going to lose then I will recall right then and their. If you want to chase me my recall is the orion town hall. Kainzo has a good point. There was a time just today I raided a stack and a half of diamonds. my cooldown on recall was still 300 seconds away so while running and dodging 5 people I would attack when able and hide when else. Once my cooldown was set I was gone. I will continue to use this method until recalling is taken out of the server's bukkit because it is fair and helpful to newer players like me that can't fight as well as the more experienced players.
