If you lost a level for loggin out, I assume you went to the website rather than steam? If so, you can just play from there but the character is not saved unless you create an account first. Reload the page and click account, and create one before starting another character and then its information will be saved on logout.

you can also go to the nexus (ikr?) and log out there w/o any danger of losing your char for w/e reason.

the nexus is where you join diff maps and buy items from other players
