Random momentary Freeze-ups on SSP and SMP?

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, found a solution?

In short, my hardware is all top-notch (no pun intended), latest drivers, latest Java, Windows 7-64bit, and antivirus set to Game-Mode.

Yeah I hqave the same problem :/
Most people have this problem, for me it happens mostly when the game loads in chunks filled with water, lava, building, redstone etc(towns).

Not you treat you like an idiot or anything but are you running 64bit Java?
Makes a big difference

To be honest, I have seen it here and there. I'm not quite sure what it is from.

I just remembered. Its actually something they did with the 1.8 update. I remember Jeb tweeting about it a couple times.

He isn't sure whats causing the issues atm

I used to get this;
I updated java and it fixed it...
