Question about TNT...

So, when TNT FINALLY makes its way into HC, will you be able to use it to blow up holes in the landscape (or, below a certain level)? If so, I presume such a power would come with a high cooldown for placing the blocks?

Just a few questions. Don't judge me. :(
This has to be one of the shortest threads i've ever written. Holy carp.

You can already place TNT as a level 55 Miner. It does not blow up blocks, just extremely powerful (Good for killing players) and has no cooldown.

In the future it shall be able to destroy regioned areas, however the areas that are affected by the TNT will regenerate so that the TNT cannot grief.

Im a little confused. So it will blow holes in stuff and then the hole would regenerate?

After a certain amount of time(keep in mind that this has not yet been implemented) the destructed that was caused by the Tnt will regenerate to the state it was in previously. Like if i made a cannon and blew a hole in your town. I could run in and afterwards no one would worry about having to fix anything because the destruction to your town would fix itself.

Hmm. I know TNT will one day be able to blow open regioned blocks (to then regenerate, yes), but will it ever be able to blow up non-regioned blocks?

Wouldn't placing TnT near you to kill a player since it has a chance that it can kill you too. I understand for traps but i don't think anything else.

Here's how we generally want it...
It will be used to blow holes into areas and they will regen. Anything above 60=Y will regen... but that has some logic issues since some towns are below the world.

So better chances are it will below holes in anything and slowly regen.

It can, below sea level.

Here's a question I've had for a while. What becomes of exploded chests? Do they spill their contents? When they regen will they still have their items inside?

When the terrain regen goes in if a chest is destroyed by TNT the chest will not drop any items and it will regenerate everything including the contents. (Note that this will require close testing when it's close to release to see if it destroys obscure items like named weapons and player heads.)

Do you think it would also destroy the enchantments of different weapons in the chest?

No it doesn't, I've already tested what we've got so far for that.
